Design help

Hello. I´m a student from Insdustrial Design at the Technological Institute of Superior Studies of Monterrey (ITESM) in México. We are working on a project in which we have to design a product for a kite sport. We have been thinking in helmets and googles but we don´t have enough expirience to develop a full functional product. This is why we are asking for and ideas that anyone has to develop the a product. Thank you for your help.

Hello nebur,
I have been involved with kites since I was a kid, but the last 10 years seriously, and only last year involved with power kites.
Take a look at the pictures taken during the SBBB you will notice that most of the riders use helmets most likely found in the skating activities. I use one myself. Other use BMX bicycle helmet, which also protect the lower jaw.
Goggles are already available, most likely thru the on line shops (English shops offering goggles for free with purchase), and as far as I am concern I will use ski goggles when the temperature goes down (they are vented and very effective)
The most prominent research and development is being made on mountain boards and buggies, both used in traction kiting activities. The water kiting related activities also have made some serious progress. Take a look at the new Peter Lynn buggy, you will, as engineer, notice something new that is (maybe) not available elsewhere = the suspensions system, the new link, and the new rider/seat position.
Let me know your thoughts.
