Newbie looking for a school

Hi to everyone!

I am thinking in getting into kite buggying. Do you know of any schools in Arizona or Las Vegas Nevada? I live in Phoenix arizona and want school near me.

hi,
you don't need to go to school for buggying...you just need a buggy, a kite, wind, helmet and some pads, and eventually a harness to give your arms a break....and the rest of your life to play

The kiteboarders have the PASA instructors certification program which also offers affordable insurance for those who complete the course. There is no equivilent for the kite buggy world, so few will risk giving lessons for $$ due to the liability issue.

I give advice to customers but will not charge for "lessons" for that reason.

I think there are a few folks that buggy around Vegas / Arizona.
Your best bet is to get a 3m kite and then catch up to the local gang. Ask around on here and other forums. Most folks are more than happy to give a hand up. If you are able to let them see that you can control your 3m they will likely be happy to let you try something bigger + their bug.

Not much in the way of formal lessons available in North America. Many folks will give you time if you are purchasing their product.

There are a couple kite retailers in Las Vegas. A Wind of Change, hosts Friday night buggy jams at local area parks (Silver Bowl is standard...near Sam's Town). Ask for Kent at www.awindofchange.com

Or talk to Corey at Wind Power Sports, he can usually be found on Ivanpah Dry Lake on the weekends and he is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to kitebuggy and powerkite flying.

Good Luck, and as the others have stated, a small kite will teach you quite a bit. Yet nothing is as good as following more advanced riders around and picking up there tips.
