Any info on the changes made? Looking to get into a pulse, just wondering if it's worth the wait for the next gen.

apparently that the new pulse will:

1) have more depower than speed2
2) have more pop & hangtime than speed2
3) have more low end and high end than speed2
4) will turn faster
5) will absorb gusts better than any other kite
6) 10m will ride in 5-6 knots

and will only cost half of HQ Beamer

the bridle may have 3 pulleys like speed2, so it will have more depower.

and the 5th line safety will be changed for the same as speed2, which is 4 lines, and safety on one of the front line like many tube kites.

and I forget, new sizes:

6, 8, 10, 12

instead of 5,7,10,13

Nice looking sail--well damn if the Pulse 2 can do all that why bother with the Psychos or Speeds?

afew comments on the Pulse 2 HYPE...

1) have more depower than speed2

they have the same mixer.... don't know how MORE depower will be achieved. look at the lineplan, the distance between the A and B lines is drasticly different from the S2 to the Pulse. the 3rd pulley acts as a progressive WAC line limiter. IE: if you put the pulse mixer on the Speed2, the B lines would oversheet and you'd probably have too much frontstall. also the bar travel is the same 40cm on each kite

2) have more pop & hangtime than speed2

agree with the pop but not the hangtime. AR is far lower on Pulses than S2 so the pulse physically can not glide like the speeds

3) have more low end and high end than speed2

agree with the high end.... can't agree on the low end. again Aspect Ratio

4) will turn faster

yep.... since the industry is so obsessed with turning speed... they have to.

5) will absorb gusts better than any other kite

doubt it will ever beat a Peter Lynn ARC kite for gust munching

6) 10m will ride in 5-6 knots

it may fly in 6knots but you'll have to work the heck out of it to plane. its not a Fixed Bridle kite...trying to be realistic here.

as far as safety systems.... many people have switched their FLS on the speeds to the FDS of the pulse... the FDS seems to be more effective of a safety

we haven't got to fly one yet and are very excited. mostly about the new graphics and eye candy and to see how FS is gonna again surprise us all !!

no doubt I was joking, when I wrote what the Pulse2 was doing, I doubt any kite can do it all.

of course, it will never have the performance of a speed2, the shape is totally different and the market of these 2 kites are aimed at different kiter levels.

All I can say from what Ive read so far, its`the 3 pulleys can only give more depower than the actual pulse I own, the rest is not too much commented on other forums.
