Kite trike- good/bad?

I got what I hope is agood deal on Ebay today- A kite trike w/ rail padding for $230 including shipping.

It was just posted so I had to make a quick decision or risk losing it-try explaining that one to the better half!

Owner has 2 buggies and said used this one only twice. Pictures looked good but we will see.

Here is the model- Any feedback?

I agree on the foot peg "spikes". That was the only thing I could see in the description that was an issue. Maybe they are bottle openers?!

What are the issues with the axle? Being steel I thing the platform would be pretty rigid.
