Rockin!!! Profoil1.5mē W/Pics

Found a Rip, yesterday in my Kite... Have taken Very good care of it & NOT flown it into the Ground... Looking at the kite AS SEEN FLYING, it is on the Backside(TOP) of the Kite... 2nd Rib to the Right (Bottom Side) from the tip of the Kite, directly on & near the C Bridle Connection...

http://www.geocities.com/nebula_43/Kites2/ProFoil_Rip03.JPG

Its on the INSIDE, Right on a RIB, where it seems someone DIDNT do such a good job with QC, on the stitching & 1 set of the Stitches MISSED the edge of that particular layer of the, (That ends up on the Back) fabric, "Who knows how long its been that way"...

Repaired it with 3m Scotch "Stretchy Tape" its about 1-1/2" -2" long Directly on the seam... Its Taped on the Inside & Sewn through the Cell, turned inside-out... Only I can tell where!!! Dont think I did to bad...

Leaving the Tape on the Inside & NOT bothering to change the thread on the Machine, but the strongest I have, BLACK & cannot be seen from the Outside...

UpDate... Well the Fix Worked... Just had the kite out, in our WindStorm today...

With NO windmeter & observing the latest & just past, windspeeds at PDX (Portland International Airport) I just had the ProFoil 1.5mē up in 30knot winds, 34.5mph, & I CAUGHt Air... About 6"-10" or so, I know my Feet were, NOT ON THE GROUND, During a good gust & Being raised back up from a sitting position... & Plenty of good 10-15' scuds... WITH KITE KILLERS... TONS of FUN!!!
:singing:

Get a windmeter, they are useful. Contact Ted if you think it's a manufacturing flaw.

I'll just have to stick with the good ole Beaufort gauge & "Wet finger in the air, or my ZIPPO" to judge what the wind around me is doing... Plus, Getting a "Bigger Kite", before I really NEED to get a wind gauge...
