Create-O-Bar

Hi Guys

Has any body tried to make a bar for their traction kite? Was bored the other day so i decided to think of ways to make my own
bar. i have not put it on paper yet but will do soon and probably get stuck in this weekend. Firstly i have a design in mind but first i wanna get some other ideas that i can sort of intergrate with mine. any ideas would be appriciated and what ever comes of my bar will be shared, rated and priced from part to part.
If anyone thinks Im being silly let me know.

Thanks in advance

No you're not being silly. Actually it's really feasible to do, but it may take more then one or even two outtings to get it working correctly. If you post a drawing of what you're thinking about making, I'm sure someone will chime in and let you know if it'll work, what you can add to make it better and what you could add as just in case measures for easy adjustments. For instance, in your leader lines coming off the bar to attach to your control lines, you may want to have several knots for easier adjustment...similar to how a lot of the handles come with several knots for adjustment. Same thing with the center brake lines. Also you're going to want to think of safety when doing all this...perhaps throwing a set of kite killers on it somehow, etc.
Like I said, post a drawing of your idea...you'll definitely get a lot of feedback once people can see what your basic idea is and how to make it better.

Keep in mind that you can often find used 4 line bars on E-bay with a proven track record for teh $20-$30 range. If you want to go ahead with this more for curiosity/personal challenge, then be sure to dig up the posts on the Cross Over bar setup. A must for any large 4 line foil. Don't ask where the design came from, but it works too good not to share.
