Ozone Snowkite Base Camp Tour

The Ozone Snowkite Freeride is the only winter tour that spans the globe bringing Snowkiting to the mountains of every continent. Gathering Snowkiters from all Nations, the Snowkite Freeride is a symbol of unity, as riders share techniques and knowledge that progresses the sport into new realms. The Freeride continues and this winter takes us further into the hills in search of epic terrain and the ultimate session. The flat lands and frozen lakes that have been the gateway for Snowkiting have unveiled a new quest that is steep and covered in powder. This season we will establish Basecamp and journey into the backcountry with our Snowkites to explore the mountain in a whole new way. Ride with us on the Snowkite Basecamp Tour and join our quest to Kite the World!

The Mission: Establish Basecamp in remote regions… harnessing wind power to explore the mountain.

The Goals: Cover more ground with snowkites, capture the fastest speed, tour farther than humanly capable & boldly go where no rider has carved before.

The Training: Professional Snowkiters will share their insight and knowledge, giving you an advantage over the terrain and preparing you for the route ahead.

The Tools: Equipment trials will be available to test and demo the latest 2008 Ozone Snowkite technology. Every snowkiter should be prepared for a day on the snow in the backcountry, so bring your own skis, boards, touring gear & snowkites.

The Locations: There are several known targets to plan for this season, with more to be added as winter drops her elusive powder across the land.

Check out www.SnowkiteFreeride.com for a detailed calendar of event sites.

Try this one Eli:

http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/gis/snow.html

The third gray bar down lists snow depth. Just select a state.

Or this one:

http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/pih/observations/newrgl.php

It list EVERYthing, in small points, you have to move your cursor over the points to see what is what.

If you just want ski resort type info:

Slawek,

That sounds really fun. One day buggy, next day snowkite :-)

By the way, would you mind providing me snow report after your trip? I am heading out to Skyline, UT on Dec 17th week. If there is not enough snow in Utah by then, I would probably go wherever you went. - Brian

I'm hoping I will get to go up to the Tugg Hill event. $65 dollar hotel room, and a 5 hour drive up there. I only hope I can convince the rents to let me drive all the way up there.
