You can usually find Captain Ron out there nearly every day the wind is blowing. I don't usually hit Eldorado that much because of the ruts and other traffic that is usually out there. When we go out we try to go to Ivanpah as much as possible. It is under water right now so Eldo might be getting a lot more traffic. You don't need any permits at all to use Eldorado but you do need one for Ivanpah. You can get a permit for Ivanpah by calling the Needles CA. BLM office and requesting one. There is no charge for the permit as long as you are only using it for personal and not commercial uses.

If you are heading to Eldorado, head all the way down to the very southern end of the lake bed. That is usually where we are all at when we are there. The southern end is usually a lot smoother than the middle or northern end and you have a lot less motorcycles, RC planes, Quads, etc... If you see Captain Ron, pull up next to him and say hello. He's an awesome guy that is always willing to fly with someone and is also a very good buggier. You may also run into Joe on his Dirtsurfer and Windwing. Both are very friendly and great guys to get to know.

Come out to the park with all of us on Friday nights for our local fun fly. There you can meet up with a lot of the local kite fliers and buggiers. Most of the time we discuss our weekend lake bed plans on Friday night to find out who else may be heading out and where they are planning on going.

Our local fun fly is every Friday night from around....5-6ish pm to 11:00 pm at the Sam Boyd Silver Bowl Soccer Park. We are located on the south end of the park between the asphalt and dirt remote control tracks. The Silver Bowl Park is located on Boulder Highway and Russell Road, in front of the UNLV Stadium.

Glad to have another kite flyer here in Vegas. Hope to hook up with you soon! If you have any other questions feel free to give me a call at our shop at 702-736-1476
