leash connection on De-power foil

I just starting flying a depowerable foil (SS ranger 9.0). All my other kites are fixed birdle. In the instructions it says for beginners to hook the leash to the break line (similar looking to what is on the frenzy). This drops the kite out of the sky because it pulls both break lines. What are the other options if you are not a beginner (although I am) - do you hook the leash to the chicken loop? Will that leave the kite at the zenith? I only can find one video on the internet and his leash is not connected to the break line from what I can see. ?

You are right about 2nd option, connecting your leash to chicken loop. Unless the kite has auto zenith (like PL kites), it will eventually crash and collapse on the ground. Good thing about this option is that you can spin the bar.

I am not sure about your SS chicken loop but if it has a safety feature, don't leash IN the checken loop (you will lose the kite when activated) but leash somewhere ON the chicken loop so, even if the safety system is activated, your leash is still attached to somewhere on the checken loop.

although I dont know the ranger foil:

connecting the leash to a chicken loop is called the suicide, not for beginners.
