This is a great video of guys doing Pendulum jumps with what looks like a 2 line 10m Mandibule. They are clearing small trees with predictable jumps. It looks to be a little old but that is serious air the 2 guys are getting. They are really putting a lot of input into the handles to get the kite to turn. You can see that when they are running, they have one handle down at their hip.

turns fast due to its AR I would imagine. Looks alot like a 2 line PL arch, and youve got one of those. Ive read they are about $1000. My question is launch and landing with a 2 liner. Def need alot of room and 2 people Im guessing.

yeah, that would be scary to land it at the side of the window because the wind got up too high only to have it blow back into the window and manage to launch again taking you with it. up up and away!

To dump this kite safely wouldn't you just let go of one line and let it flag ? It does basically look like P.L. arc. It seems to have the auto zenith thing going on. I suppose you could fly an arc as a 2 line :?: Anyone ever tried it :?:

If you let one handle loose, it will spin all the way down winding your lines up. At least my symphony 2 line does that.

:?: I used to fly my arc on a Naish bar. The safety ran on one fly line and it worked fine. Nobody ever suggested this hook up was wrong and it seemed to work for me :?:

Was this the wrong way to hook up the safety on an arc ? How is it set up ?

My symphony and an arc could behave very differently. I'm just giving what my experience has been. I've broken lines before and it always managed to spin 20-30 times before it made it to the ground. I made 300 lb lines and it hasn't been a problem any more, but I remember untangling the mess to be able to fix the broken line.

Snowbird -

My GII 9m is setup on an Airrush bar with the safety to the left rear line. Kite flags and drops fine this way, without wrapping up.

I noticed from the site http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/mx5alan/arcs/ARCsetup_FAQ.htm that the early 02 ARC bars show either rear or front line safety, the 04 bar with front line safety, and the 07 bar back to rear line safety.

Let a two line foil loose on one line, and you got a corkscrewed mess. It figures - the kite is powered up and turning around the one line. Think a Symphony fits that scenario.

It seemed to work on the front line. The back just seems to make more sense. Just as you mention my Airush bar used the back and the Naish was front. I used the Naish as it came from a 16m kite.

Just like with lei's I think the IMPORTANT thing is to let it run the length of the wingspan before hitting the stopper.
