Tandem setup?
Hi all,
I'm going to be at the NABX pre-event at the end of March ('08), and I'm interested in hooking up a temporary tandem setup, so I can drag my daughter
in a buggy behind me. Have any of you created a solid tandem hookup, or are you aware of where I could find kits?

If you have 2 buggies then you can attach them like you would a trailer. But if you dont a seat and rear axle are the easier parts of a bug to build,
with a welder pretty easy to pull off. When is NABX?

NABX pre event
NABX is at the end of March, at El Mirage Dry Lake in southern Calif. After that, there's the official NABX event, and it's held that first week of
April. Since I'm teaching then, I can only make it to the pre-event, which is still fun as hell.

Hi S70,
Angus has a few pics at his web site with detailed instructions. I built mine using this design and it works fine. I believe Carl (aka Popeye the
Welder) has a pic or two at his site (different design and made out of metal instead of wood).
Here is the link to Angus tow hitch design - http://www.coastalwindsports.com/BuggyMods.html
Unfortunately, I don't remember the link to Carl's site but it is listed on this forum someplace.

Thanks for the reference to my tandem hitch. I should add that while it continues to work well, I would extend the towpoint or hitch attachment on
the towing buggy out about 8" behind the rear axle, instead of just a couple of inches behind. Doing so would ensure that the tow bar would be less
likely to hit the rear tire of the towing buggy in a tight turn.
I had thought that I had edited the article on the web site to refect this, but obvoulsy not, so thanks for the bump and nod.
