Something Stronger - snowkitefilm.com

Hey,

Who here has seen this dvd? What do you guys think of it?

I love it - I got mine in the mail a couple weeks ago - its great just to play in the background and let it go over and over. Good music, good video

It has some really good kiters in there, with Remi Meum (Nobile rider) riding and narrating.

you can see more about it here:

Well hard to decide .I like music in entropy better but Something stronger show how really they progressed in only one year with wicked tricks. In new film they also have new riders and young Petter showed that You can get to the top in no time.Like I said You have to own both like I do.Worth every penny.

I'm about to pick it up. Someone posted it on Ebay. Expensive DVD, but worth it. I love the fact it comes with the HD quality video. That is going stright on my PS3 next to the Hadlow Pro video!

Yep. Just make sure if you want the full res HD WMV version, that it comes with the disc for it as well. The DVD is obv. standard def. The WMV -HD disc is 'separate' but can be bought together.

I ordered both, but for some reason Morten only sent the normal dvd.. got refunded my money for the WMV disc.. didn't really need it anyways,

This looks like a great DVD. For everyone who thinks those guys make it look too easy, here is a video of crashes from the filming that I found on Youtube.

The crashes are just a segment of the DVD I bought this and was a little disapointed,It's like a buck a minute 39 min. $40.00 Now " Project Cloud9" that kicks _ss over this one Thats just my opinion though.

Bought it. Can't wait. Cloud 9 is sick too. Saw that at the Tugg Hill Rally.

I finally got Something Stronger this week. Good video, but so far I'd have to say that I like "Cloud 9" better. They are both great but I liked the terrain better in Cloud 9. Plus it has Chasta and he's...um....really good. I liked the commentary on Cloud 9 better as well and the concept of them bombing around in an RV looking for places to kite was cool.

The crash sequence in Something Stronger was cool but really should have been stuck in with the DVD extras. Overall I'd have liked a little more in the extras on both films. You know that they shoot hundreds of hours of film and edit it down to 30 minutes or so and I'd really like to see some of their "second tier" footage thrown in there. Especially since these DVD's run about a buck a minute as someone mentioned above.

I'm jealous of the wide open spaces that these guys have on both of these videos. Up here in New England we have too many damn trees and not enough open space (I didn't have this view until I bought my first kite).

If anyone was thinking about picking this up this the Kiteboarder Mag has a promo going with a 1 year subscription and the DVD for only $40.

Also, just for the record the credits start rolling 35 minutes in and the movie ends at 38 minutes....not 39! If they are going to advertise the DVD length down to the very minute they ought to count them right. Yes, I know I'm being an a$$:tumble:

So I'll also mention that the (slightly creepy) into lasts 3 minutes as well (with no snow or kites). :alien:

I just watched Something Stronger again last night. I liked it more than I remembered. Good stuff to get you pumped up for the white stuff. It's interesting that those guys used only LEI's on snow (except for a North foil at the very end) while Ozone's "snow kites" are all foils. Probably a discussion for another thread.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Entropy? Preferably for $30-35 shipped (I don't know if I can stand to pay $40 but maybe). Or does anyone have a copy that I could borrow?

NH had mentioned the slightly creepy intro. I actually thought it was funny, especially the rookie of the group wearing a neck brace - well placed.
