Tugg Hill NY Snowkiting Pictures

Got home from Tugg Hill Rally and got the pictures on my Flickr page.

Special thanks to those who set this up, the land owners, and the whole town of Lowville who embrased the kiters with open arms!

Its an Access XC 6m. One of the organizers let me ride it because my 10m was to but then I learned I was underpowered on it and had a blast on my Speed.

Still learning to fly the speed though, I find if flies out of the PZ really fast, and I was having trouble keeping it in the PZ. I think I just need to fly it more, and I was a bit underpowered at this point too.

The Turbines made the whole event so unique. To see the wind turbines and the kites together in a sort of tango of wind power was awesome.

They actually looked pretty short really. It looked as if it could snag a kite and take some unfortunate fellow for a ride. (The outside of the blades moved at something like 130 mph I think I heard.) But, the general concept of them was that they were too high for kite lines to reach.

When I read wind turbines I though like turbines making wind for kiting. That my friend needs to be started!!! Like and indoor kite park, kinda like the wave machines for surfers.

The only difference is there are possibly billions of surfers, and probably a million or so kiters.

Some day though, some day.
