Power Rings fixed bridle
Can you guys give me the dummies guide to installing power rings? I've done searches and seen a few pics and diagrams, but don't understand my
attachment points and leader lengths. I need to see the big picture to be able to understand it enough to tune it to the kite. I'm most interested
in doing it to the Pansh Blaze 5m and Ace 6m. Many posts talked about quicker turns and that can't be a bad thing. Both kites need some wind to be
able to take brake application, so I don't want the rings to kill the kites out of the sky. I'm a tinkerer and like to make things better and this is
my first foray into messing with the bridles on any of my kites. I've only tweaked my kites so far with total line length and relative line length.
I'm sometimes tough to get through to but I have my learning cap on. Thanks in advance.

I have used power rings on my Pansh ace 6.0m They certainly improve handling, but I found to get the most out of them they needed to be adjusted
depending on the wind strength. Anway, this is how I did it.
Start off with length of line about 500mm long. I used some crab fishing nylon line beacause it was all I had at the time.
Tie a loop to each end, Larks head one end to a small ring, I used one of those split rings used for keys. Larks head the other end to your fling line
about 300mm down from the kite bridle. Disconnect the brake line from the bridle and pass it through the power ring, re-attach line to kite. Now
repeat for the other side. That is basically it. My experience is that the need adjusting up or down the flying line, also the length requires
tweeking depending on wind strength.
They do improve things when just right, but getting it right was a pain in the arse, so I don't bother anymore. Like you I like to tinker with things,
power rings are worth a tinker. I hope this helps.

Here ya go Bob, you can substitute ronstan pulleys for the power rings. Length for a 6m foil is about 4.5 to 5.5 inches if Im not mistaken

Ok, I guess I know enough about kites now, that this makes perfect sense. I might try those the next times I get to fly. Is there enough movement
in the rings to make the pulleys worth the extra effort and weight?

I perfer the pulleys. Seem more responsive to break input and dont chaffe the brake leaders.

I did the power ring mod and pulleys on the handles for my 8.5 blaze it it works great. At my hardware store they sell nice welded rings that are light
and dont chaffe the brake lines.I had to move the power rings down so the knot in the brake lines didn't go through the rings.
