Profoil 1.5
The profoil landed yesterday. It is the 1st one I have seen in person. I have a couple of questions.
1) Are those sweet Radsail handles that come with it not a bit large for that size of kite ?
2) The brake bridles are only at the wingtips not the middle as well. Does this do anything, good or bad that I should know about ? Does the whole
trailing edge still crease ?
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse

Those must not be the stock handles that Ted ships they must have been added by the previous owner. The stock handles are quite small.
The brake line attachments may cause unexpected spinning while breaking. It takes a little bit to get used to the way these little guys fly. It's kind
of a light touch, at least in my experience.
They are fun fast little kites though.

This is what I would have expected :puzzled:
Can someone explain the advantage to this brake tip method :?:

I can't explain the advantage, but definitely be careful on the breaks. I little too much and you'll throw it into a turbo pinwheel. Once it starts
spinning it really goes.

the death spin is no good i made the mistake of using the brakes at the edge of the window and it went into a what i call a "death spin" it must have
went around like 30 times before i got it on the ground.

Does the bridle set-up on the larger profoils leave a couple of ribs unbridled like this 1.5 .
I had it up in the air today when my 9m was barely flying. It holds a nice shape and turned predictably onces a let loose on the brakes .

Check the knots at the bridal ends. These are the knots where you larkhead your flying lines to. Double tie this knot if it looks too close to the
edge of the bridal line. One of my knots came undone and I had to tie one away from the end of the bridal lines.

YES, I noticed that and added a second knot right off. I kind of like having a second knot anyway.
