Pulse2 8m first impressions

Well i was back in england in westward ho this past weekend and got to give the pulse2 a proper run for its money... i'm someone who started on peter lynns, moved to flysurfer, then recently moved to SLEs for the turning speed... but i can happily say i'm now back with flysurfer :)

I'm comparing my impressions of the pulse2 along side with a brand new ocean rodeo rise venturi 2008, which is one of the best hybrids out there IMO. I have a 10m, and i'm gonna sell it now and get some more pulses :) I love my 10m rise i must say, it is a great kite, the turning speed may still be a little bit faster on it than the 8m pulse but the pulse goes fast enough for me. The low end is definitely better on the rise, they are known for their good low end, but i consider the 8m p2 to be a high wind kite... anyway, i don't this to be a review because i'm very lazy. All i'm saying is from someone who was converted to inflatables from flysurfer psychoIIIs, i can happily say the pulse2 has brought me back :)

Turning speed is great, massive improvement and bar pressure is just right, jumping feels nice and smooth, it is basically very similar to an SLE kite in most ways apart from you don't have to blow it up, hence, it wins :)
It is also easier to relaunch the kite in marginal winds than an sle which needs some oomph to be able to flip over.

The sunset came and the wind dropped to about 4mph and i pulled out a silverarrow 1.5 modded by Powerzone John, was soooo happy to be not only the only kite in the sky, but this thing felt amazing! I was going soooo fast for such a small amount of wind and gliding all over the place. The lightweight fabric on these makes it almost impossible for the kite to overfly because it weighs nothing! The added turning speed and depower from John's mod was great too :)

So i'm a happy bunny basically... the only thing is the safety system is a pile of crap on the pulse2, but i never really use flysurfer safety systems anyway, i think they all suck

Couldn't get on the water unfortunately because the wind was directly offshore... willdo hopefully soon though!

Any questions are welcomed, this is my fav. flysurfer kite to date.

yay!

Much MUCH smaller bridle configuration... i tried my damndest to get the bridles tangled up but they won't! Definitely a much better bridle system...
The canopy is a completely different shape, obviously, it seems much thinner and more ridged... i couldn't tell you any of the technical improvements but I love this kite :)

HA HA,
That's SCARY :o

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.

I flew a 7m Slingshot Turbo Diesel 2 last week - my first time with a bow. The turn rate and depower range was incredible. I haven't flown a Link, but am told they turn even quicker, and with less bar pressure, but long throw (they don't have a 2:1 pulley bar like the TD2).

Domdino - tell me I should get a Pulse 2 instead. Don't know if I can justify paying twice the price, as compared to a clearance TD1 or a used TD2 in great shape. I think pumping isn't as big a deal as folks make it out to be. When you get used to zero(Fahrenheit) temps, you inevitably have your fingers out of the gloves for a bit to do stuff, whether it's fiddling with a bridle, or working with the pump.

I tried a td1 and really didn't like it much so i guess it's all rider preference :)
Try and pulse and see what you think, i don't mind pumping either i did it for a while but the pulse has brought me back to flysurfer, i can't really explain it beyond that! I just loved flying this kite it felt just right for me! :)
