Condition of the playa

I haven't really been paying attention to the winter's weather out that way. I presume the playa is in good shape this year for us.

Hey Sailors,
The playa is dry and hard.
Unfortunately this weekend it is arun with landsailers.
They are having a light/variable wind weekend so mostly sitting around beering.

I hate good weather before an event - Good weather never lasts.
I love bad weather before an event - Bad weather never lasts.

Maybe this year they won't use up all the wind before we get there.

Water up to your knees?
It's clear blue skies and temps in the low 80's this Easter weekend.

Corey,I just heard the chineses can control the weather for the Olimpics, something about being able to not make it rain. did you hear anything about this story ? I was down in florida when Andrew rolled in and that was one hell of a storm and watched the size of hurricane grow over the water ,I was wondering if the airlines had used those crystals to control and they made a big #@%^up.......Yeah ,...I know....I'm smoking to much of that funny stuff Right ?????......did you send my order for the Peter Lynn seat or will I be getting a new buggy cause I think "now" the wife won't yell if it shows up....I wish.....for some reason shes not complaining about my expences.I think she know how much this trip means to me but that can change without notice.....Anyhoo...see ya soon !

Terry & Corey,
Glen and I will be on the Playa in 4 days. (seems like a very long time)
Of course we will visit the kiteshop before running out to the Playa.
no sense worrying about the weather anyway.
This trip has to be better than DBBB as far as wind goes.
I have only logged some miles at Floyd Bennett, and a few in Galveston since last year on the Playa.
I can't wait to hit the dirt sailing. There must be wind!!!!!
The wind god, (Earl) will not let us down.
Perhaps the Nalsa guys are the sacrifice.
Rusty and raring to go sums it up for me.

Howdy Jason, I guess it's the same here ,27th at noon for me . I was wondering about displaying a permit prior to NABX ? Will we need one and will the Nalsa guys get twisted if we set up karts ?I remember a comment about the blokarts being agile and in there way . I'd like to respect their wishes but plan on flying my arc & buggy along with sailing ,maybe just not when nalsa's event is happening. what do ya think Jason ?The nalsa guys I've met so far were very nice people .from what Corey said he'll be closed from 27th to 6th cause I was thinking of hitting his shop too.I orderd stuff to my house but he can have anything waiting for you on Playa also.Call him at the pre event and see what he says. Thanks for your help Jason and see you and Glenn soon !Ps .explain Earl to me ??????.....

Crash,
You are registered for Ivanpah blokart Race & Rally so you are covered for a permit. I will be getting into Vegas on a 10:13 AM flight on the 27.

The NALSA people approved our permit overlapping theirs. They usually finish there racing by Thursday or Friday. If they are still racing on Ivanpah it is plenty big enough for us not to be in there way. Most of the blokart people will be arriving late Friday or sometime Sat. :lol:Over 30 international blokarters have registered.

See you Thursday.

Fran

Thanks Fran ,I knew about the permit and you know I don't bother anyone with my activitys .Just making sure the Nalsa crew has a great time and not worried about Blokarts buzzing around their course.we know how much room there is and how to be safe ,it's the others I worry about reflecting back to us ,Remember ? I won't mention any names,he he .I'm really sorry I missed Jason and yourself at FB but happy we can share some stories at Ivanpah with the crew flying in .There should be more than 30 Karts, A couple of freinds I sail with will be arriving with there karts also, shiracho's I think ?A women I know thats a masusse and photographer registered with NABX and she don't kite at all. What ever happens with turnout ? I shouldn't really say this but with this global warming and all, A nice freak 60+ wind would make My Year ! Get there safely with your stuff, I packed twice cause of all the junk and weight I had to shuffle, kart & buggy.Stay well and I'll See ya soon Fran !
