Help needed with Pansh Legend
About 3 months ago I picked up a used 4.5m Pansh Legend here on the PKF forums.
I've been unsucessful in getting her to fly.
I tried the Pansh lines that came with it and found one of the power lines was about 4 inches longer than the other. This caused the kite to turn in
circles on launch.
Once I found this and adjusted my leader line accordingly I could get it to launch vertically, but it would not climb to the zenith--30 degrees was
about all I could get in steady 10mph winds. I thought, okay, maybe too much brake. Let out the brakes to the point of almost no brake control at all
and it still only climbed to about 30 degrees from the beach.
I changed to my Flexi lines and performance didn't improve.
Removed the brake lines to fly as a two-liner...no improvement.
I've made sure the bridles are untangled from packing/shipping.
Trying to turn the kite in the power window resulted in flapping wing tips and hardly any pull. I got far more pull with my 3.0 Legend than the 4.5.
Does anyone have any ideas? Does this sound like possible bridle stretch? These are the old pansh lines and bridles afterall.
My kite bag:
Pansh Legend 3.0m, 4.5m (for sale $60)
Ted\'s ProFoil 1.0m / 1.5m / 2.5m
Prism Nexus dual line

If it won't fly on 2-line then something is gimped and I'd suspect the bridle. Can you e-mail them and ask for bridle dimensions? They should have a
chart. Then it would be easy to check.

If it won't fly 2 line the problem must be in the bridle ? Something like your A + B lines stretched ??
If you measure your bridle on the working legend a pattern should appear. Once that pattern is clear measure your larger one. It should follow the
same way ?
Does it hold a decent shape or is there a pucker in the back / corners ?
What did you do with the brake lines when flying 2 line ?

Are the bridles yellow? Most old bridles are yellow and stretch like rubber bands. The new bridles are white and are rock solid. measure the 3 lines
on the wingtip and let me know. I have seen the most stretch out of those lines on the older legends. I have a 4.5m legend that I have never flown
with the old yellow bridles. It had two bridle lines that were not to my satisfaction so Pansh sent me new ones. The new bridles were the white ones
and they were about 2 inches longer than the original ones, after one flight I found out why. The yellows all stretched out to match the new white
ones. I took one of the yellows I replaced and a new white one that was extra and staked them off and gave a good pulling and the white was rock
solid, but the yellow was stretching like a rubber band.

Yeah, the bridles are the yellow ones.
I didn't get a chance this weekend to pull the kite out.
How much bridle-line stretch is enough to keep the kite from flying well? Are we talking a few centimeters? or more like a couple inches?

I have personally seen the old bridles stretch inches. I would think, but I'm no expert for sure, that as long as they all stretch evenly you would
have no problem. I suspect that some didn't stretch evenly and thats your problem.

I've had kites do similar things, and adjusting the a and c bridle connections by a centimeter or less can make all the difference in the world. What
your describing is a definet bridle problem relating to the angle of attack. Having never looked closely at a Pansh, I have no clue as to wether
you can adjust it or knot.
What do you do with your foils?
