Hey Sailors,
Dat's why we drive down the middle of the lake bed.

Come to where you can see the Orange Windsock in front of Sailor's Bay (on the left) and veer to the right and into Walt's Cove.

Relax, it's not as deep out there as it looks.
You'll be fine.

Should have been here this week...
Nice temps and a sweet breeze has arisen this afternoon.

Geez... That whole lake bed to myself...

Hey Ck,

You must be braver than I...looked at the weather channel which showed 32-42mph at 3-4pm!

Seems like the last few days have been pretty consistent. Can't wait till Sat. Please save some wind for us ;)

Well, as I type this Murphy and I are sitting in front of AAMCO...

The linkage from the clutch cable to the transmission snapped in half. That part is most likely one of few that have nopt been replaced on this truck! Pretty LAME.

Last year the Jeep kept running out of oil.
2 years before that, water pump died in the ranger truck.

So far this year not even a full day into the trip:
1.Pulled over by a Sheriff to let us know the light for our license plate was out.
2. Circle K was closed and could not get a new propane tank.
3. Minutes after leaving Circle K and getting onto El Mirage Rd. the clutch linkage snaps cleanly into two pieces.

So being of the Murphy family we live by our law,

IF ANYTHING CAN GO WRONG IT WILL!

Hopefully we will make it out to Elmers just before everyone takes off for Superior.
If you wanted to know it's the AAMCO on Palmdale Ave, we think.

The tow truck driver was a very courteous.
In the future Air Expressway Towing has good prices and great service.

The zipper just broke on the laptop bag...It will never end...

Well when AAMCO opened at 8:30AM they said they can't look at the truck till Monday and then they would have to order parts.
So we called the local Enterprise rent-a-wreck and am sitting now in a 2007 Dodge Ram. It is much bigger that our little pickup with better mileage...Scary that it has a 35 Gallon tank.

So after all that Murphy and I headed out to Elmers for the second time in 12 hours. We made it there at about noon. Did not see any kites right away, some Blowkarts scooting around. We drove till we get to Walt's cove and see motorheads making noise and wasting fuel. Look around some and spot TWO kites. Head off to see where everyone is and meet Jordan on a mountain board and a Mr. Web who was on a buggy flying a Slingshot B-2 I believe. Winds were blowing hard and gusting high. Mr. Web told us that everyone took off to Superior because there was too much wind at Elmers! We decided to head off to Superior and have made it as far as the Barstow Food4Less. Waiting for Murphy to come out with the groceries for a couple days worth of relaxing with excellent friends.

The Murphy curse is letting us alone for a little while it seems. Unless we make it to Superior to find a lone buggier letting us know everyone went to Ivanpah.

Soon to be able to get a kite up on beautiful Superior.
