4 meter ACE
Yes- it does fly!! After numerous tweaks and refitting brake and power
lines I have found the correct settings for this kite. I traded this kite for a Profoil 3.5 with Tridude and at first was very surprised at how much
of a tweak it needed to even get it off of the ground. Factory settings just did not work- it sat about 20 feet off of the ground and hovered. Time
for some pigtails- and don't be an idiot like me and not buy that "other foot" because you think you will not need it! I needed to make 3 sets of
tails to try different settings!
It turns out I had to add 6-7 inches to each brake leads to get it to fly. I have had to add 1 or 2 inches to a kite but 7?! Yikes! I also had to add
1 inch to the powers. Seems strange that I could not just shorten the brakes an inch but it just would not fly if I did so. It took MULTIPLE different
length trys to find these settings.
I have not had decent winds or no rain on my days off here in 6 weeks! Talk about a slump! Today was decent light winds and no clouds- enough to give
a few good skuds but no jumps. The kite shoots straight to the zenith but still overshoots if you are not careful[more tweaks needed] I was surprised
at how quick it turns compared to my 5.0 Ace. The 5.0 is a bus compared to this one! I was able to spin and snap turn as needed. Still need to watch
the window edge or as Bob said- it will pucker and possibly bowtie.
I know it has good lift from my last feeble attempt at correcting the issues. I will go as far as saying this kite might be a good buggy engine in
light winds like today. I am unsure of the MPH but i have a wind meter coming in the mail so I can keep track of my selections.
The yellow and blue colors are great! I love the orange strip in the interior middle of the kite- not overbearing but "sporty"
The bridle turns to "spaghetti bundle" each time I pack it up. I had this issue with my 5.0 when it was new but over time something changed in the
characteristics of the bridle and it no longer gets tangled.
Overall, I am now very happy with this kite. It took a lot of work to get it right but I feel it will be coming out of the bag alot!
It is amazing how well it flys once it is dialed in compared to the factory settings. I think Rose should get out on her lunch break and fly a kite or
two and see what crappy quality control is going on at Pansh! But- what do we really expect for $140 bucks! A Flexi?!

I just read my post and I think I do not like the way I wrote part of it. Someone might portray Tridude as trading a "lame" kite and that is NOT the
case here. He told me before the trade he had to tweak it also to get it to fly right. He was a great person to deal with and helped me with thoughts
about what might be wrong. So.... Tridude is It was just another case
of a Pansh kite and known issues.
Sorry about my poor editing skills!

I've flown one ... or ..... two ... or .. ten different aces and had no issues like you are describing. I just wonder if you had a lemon.
As far as the quality control issue goes I think it will get better as more dealers come along to double check what Pansh sends out. I check every
kite I get. I think one of Pansh's problems is the lack of dealer support. Most of Pansh customers are begginers, because of the price point. They
order online and get no directions or help of any kind. Then you see them posting up on all the forums having problems. Of course they are having
problems, they have had no guidance. Alot of these problems I see posted could easily be resolved if they had a local shop to goto for help. Thats
just my 2 cents.

I fly a 2m Ace, and it really is quite good for the money... it came kite only, so I never had issue with the factory lines. I did have to shorten the
power line leaders on my handles at first, but since then I have had no problems.
All it takes is tweaking and youve got a great kite! Plu I really like the all black on my 2m.

It just seemed to me to be more than a "tweak" to have a practically new kite need to have ALL lines either shortened or elongated. I understand the
brakes might need an inch or two but 7 is way off and the combo of the powers is just too much for out of the bag. However, I flew it again today for
1/2 an hour and it really is a nice kite now that we both came to an understanding! I am going to try it on the buggy next week.

As you know we kept our handles. Wonder if that factored in? I ditched the Pansh handles and flying the Profoil on Ozones. Nice to hear youve got it

Nope! I have a set in my trunk and tried those. Good thinking though- seems we are on the same page! Honestly, even if they worked, I do not like
them, can't seen to trust the quality when jumping.

Heck, just on the 17th of this month, I helped my cuz hook up a Legend 3m and an Ace 4m. He wouldn't fly the Ace because hes just start'n out (kudos
to him ) but I flew it right out the bag...:D flip'n so nice I want one
real bad now,:puzzled: I don't know why but I liked it more than my 3.5m & 5m Ace's...
Very Sweet Kite:singing:
I was gonna ask if by chance you were trying to hook it up on a bar... because they need the break lines very slack... and 7" sounds bout right... I
noticed you had handles so I'm stumped...:puzzled:
Glad you got it going good now... when your ready to get rid of it look me up...:D

The thing is, if you use current pansh lines, they come with the brake lines already longer than the power lines. I flew that same yellow kite with
the Pansh lines and made two adjustments to get the brakes right, then it was ON. That doesn't have much to do with the bowties at the edge but no
pigtails required with factory lines. They really aren't bad lines either. Very suitable lines for the price in fact. The handles aren't really
comfortable to fly with but they are usable at worst. The important thing is that you have a kite in the sky every once in awhile.

Bob- You do not know it but you just unlocked the mystery! I never thought to compare Pansh lines and lenghts to my Flexi! I did not trade lines-just
kites so I never had the lines to try.
I still do not trust Pansh lines. I was one of the fortunates to have a "1st batch" of kites with my 5m Ace, of course that meant the poor lines came
with it! I know the quality has improved greatly and I have 2 sets in my trunk [new] but I can't get that warm and fuzzy feeling for them! By the way-
they are for sale!
I flew the 5 this weekend and saw I needed some more brake [again!] As for the 4m- it is cruzing the skies with power and lift!:frog::frog:

It came yesterday but I haven't unwrapped it yet. Maybe this afternoon. I flew my 6m Ace with those lines and I did put them to as much test as I
could hold on for. Rough but durable.

Well!
All I have to say about the Ace is.... I love it!
I just recently aquired a new 2 meter all black and she is great. (Thanks Dino!!)
Very fast and with a high A/R it looks like a 3
I took off work early today to head to the park/beach and get some buggy practice in and she just rocks
A great buggy engine in higher winds I found.
When I got mine, it came with no lines so I just swithed over some lines from my 3.6 and done.
Cheers!
Ken
