Hey man

I'm in the process of buying a new bow kite for light wind, so I've looked at lots. I've flown a Slingshot Turbo Diesel and an Ocean Rodeo One kite. Both kites have huge wind ranges and are super stable, with awsome depower. The Turbo deisel was an 06 and I hear the 07 Turbo 2s are even better. I'm also looking at Waroos, but haven't been able to try one yet.

I been flying a 2007 16m LF assault 2 12mph seems to be the low end easy ride for <180lbs. will almost launch itself. but i still love the steady pull of my c-kites.
the invert issues is the only neg thing i heard about the turbo d.
good luck

Even if I am a Flysurfer type of guy, I own a Havoc 2007 14m LEI. It's still has a C-shape but 25 % flatter more like a bow. The kite turns fast like a C, and much powerful as a bow with great depower and ease of relaunch

Lot of C-kiters who swap to hybrids have liked the Havoc.

Thanks for the answers guys.

I have been looking at the Best Bularoo as I want a kite that I can also use on snow and land. Or the Waroo for pure H2O action. They seem to be easiest on the wallet. Has anybody owned/flown these kites?

I know everybody raves about Fly Surfer and one day wehen I have to budget I will own a few but for now I need to make do with what I can afford.:sniff:

I switched over to the Bularoos this year from Peter lynn's and I can't imagine how i got along with out them. Very stable and easy to launch and relaunch on my own. I got two new kites and a bar for what i would have paid for one Peter Lynn kite only. people have bad mouthed the duarbuility of the Best kites but I have found the construction to be good and tested the crash resistance of the leading edge already with success.

I saw the Bularoo 7 on Steep and cheap for $294 the other day. That's $140 less than I paid for mine!

I'll echo Dman's comments on the Best Bularoos. I recently switched from Peter Lynns and C-Kites to a full quiver of Bularoos and Waroos that I share with my wife (I weigh about 110 kg and my wife weighs about 55 kg). The Bularoo 10m is probably the best kite I've ever flown, period. The Bularoo 13 and 16 are nearly as good, but what they all share in common is reasonably good speed, extreme stability, and a very direct, positive feel that allows you to adapt to the kite almost instantly. Today my wife flew it in sub-par conditions (12-15 mph) and had a blast.

The Waroos in my quiver fit the "extreme ends" of our wind range, I have a 20m and 5m. The 5m is mostly intended for my wife on 20+ days, but we've both used it for landboarding. The 20m is just plain awesome. Nearly as fast turning as the Bularoo 16, but it flies in as little as a gnat's fart. Bottom end for me with this kite is roughly 12 mph, although I could probably keep it going in 10 mph if I had to.

The difference between the two is that the Waroo flies considerably closer to the wind, while the Bularoo flies deeper and gives a bit more grunt. That plus the additional scuff pads on and "one-pump" on the B gives it a bit of an edge over the Waroo. Either would work equally well on or off the water, but since we do mostly down winders and waves here, the Bularoo works a bit better overall.

I'm not sure what sort of deal you can get in the UK, but I got an entire quiver of 07's for just a bit more than list price on a Flysurfer... hard to beat.

So my Bularoo arrived ages ago but I have only flown it today for the first time....I know, bad form!

I had some lessons today because it was my first time out on a bar and have had the biggest smile on my face since! I took it out in a huge park and did some (not so)static flying.:singing:

What an amazing kite! It is very responsive and has plenty of power with loads of depower. It was so easy to set up and pump because of the easy pump system (only has one valve) and the bar is very easy to use and to control the kite with.

I learned so much from my lesson and can highly recommend them to noobs It is well worth the money and you will learn more in two hours with an instructor then you will from days of trying by yourself.

I cant wait for next weekend when Im heading down to the beach for some more lessons and fun. Lets hope the weather plays ball.

I just want to thank all those who replied to my thread for the advice you gave. Now I just need to save upo and get the 16m......

Fly safe

Glad that you're loving the Bularoo 10m. Here's how amazing that 10m is IMHO: in 20 mph winds, both my wife (who weighs 55 kg) and I (at 110 kg) can both use the 10m! (Of course, I'm sining the sh*t out of that puppy, but it is doable and kinda fun actually). Likewise, my wife has flown my 16m on 12 mph days (totally lit, BTW) and I've flown the 16m in 15 mph and had fun. They really are fun kites!

Best do make fantastic kites :)
anyone who says otherwise is either a snob or hasn't tried one! The bularoo is built really well too, the waroos weren't built quite so good which is really the only complaint you can make about their kites, Glad you're having fun!!!
