Wind Range For Mac Bego 600???
Folks,
I took out my Mac Bego 600 today for the first time -- I bought in 11/07. The wind speed was 7 mph and decreasing. The kite would go up but wouldn't
stay up. After a while, when wind was very low ( I didn't have my wind meter with me then), the kite was just not flying.
Prior to purchasing this kite, I had read that people scud with Mac Bego 600 at 2 mph windspeed. What's the low down on this kite? What's hype and
what's the real wind speed? I am headed to the beach again where predicted wind speed is 4-9 mph (increasing) over 7 hours. Obviously, there isn't a
lot of wind there. Is Mac Bego 600 the right kite for this kind of wind range?

First off do you have power ring on the kite? If not put a set on and that will help the low end tremendously.
Power rings are usually home made and consist of a short length of line that is fixed to the power line fairly close to the kite using a larks head.
The other end has a small metal or plastic loop or small pulley which the brake line passes through. The idea behind the power rings is to reduce the
drag caused by brake lines on the trailing edge of a kite.

The kite has power rings which were set up by the previous/original owner.
