Double- Where are you located, in Ma? And yes, I did meet Dan- he was the only other person there with a buggy or ATB. The event was more a general fly day rather than powerkiters but it made us stand out:cool:

I still have yet to fly at Nahant- I just got my new car set up with my buggy rack so I am ready to go! Google Mayflower beach in Dennis Ma on Google maps- Incredible beach. Rumor has it you can buggy 8 miles without stopping!

I vacation in Eastham and have always thought Skaket Beach in Orleans has nice sand for boarding and buggying - just watch out for that big rock in the middle :alien:

It's raining in Boston today and wet conditions are forecasted for the weekend. So, this weekend will be spent sulking and day dreaming about kiting.

Sounds like we should all try to meet up before the tourists invade! How about mid-June/ According to the tide charts the best weekend is the 28th with a 1:15 low tide. The next best is the 14th with a 3pm low. You usually can get a 2 hour before and after lowtide buffer in there also. If interested let me know. Heres a couple pics of Mayflower beach:

I am up for it!

Can you U2U me the "tide chart" URL/web site?

Also, weather has cleared up for tomorrow; it will be windy (16+mph). I am going to be at Nahant Beach tomorrow. I just hope my quiver can handle the winds.

first off it was a gorgeous day , but of course ,it was mothers day. hope everbody praise theirs.went to chappin beach first that is huge.took some pics then went to mayflower thought the wind direction be better.notice right off its going to be bumpy.dont know if it like that all the time.got there at 11 low tide saw a kitesurfer on a mt board ask him any soft spots/were is it smooth.had a good time locals love it.had some kinda long runs ,got wicked soak lots of gully washes, had to slow down, some were deep.if i go again its got to be north ,dead on,2+hours before low tide.started with a 3meter went to a .4

Rippled sand is common there- and yes- the wind needs to be north or south for perfect runs. I like the gullies! keeps you looking for dropouts. it can be challenging getting all the factors right but when they do- it is an awesome beach!

I vacation in Eastham every year (just got back actually) and frequent Skaket Beach regularly (after dinning at the Jailhouse).

The sand is very nice but there are often large tidal pools and its popular with those who like to watch the sunset. It can be bumpy and there is a big rock to avoid. It can only be used at low tide since there is not enough beach at high tide and the sand on the beach itself is super soft and not good for buggys or boards.

My guess is that its good for 2 hours before and after dead low. Maybe 3 - but you will get wet.

Nevertheless the guy who used to own the Kite Gallery in Welfleet said there were folks who would buggy there.

I prefer locations where I don't have to get wet.
