best harness for buggy

I have tried a Dakine fusion and found the backrest is too high for comfort in a buggy. I use a very old speed seat now which is getting uncomfortable. I hear the Dakine storm is nice what do you all think?

I am saving for Ozone AccessXC harness. It looks like iti would be comfortable while in the buggy. I too have the Fusion harness and its just too restrictive. Setting up, walking around, etc. is just uncomfortable. I was going to make the Wichard/Pully combo from previous threads for connection to the strop.

I hear ya on that one Susan... I like my Dakine XT seat harness. I have a Storm harness as well. The XT has clips for the legs as well as waist, which makes it quick and easy to get in and out of while you have to step in/out of the storm. The storm works well and is comfortable, I just prefer the XT.

I found mystic most comfy and unbreakable my main buggy harness is force shield http://www.live2kite.com/images/mystic/force_shield_web.jpg and lately I found that my snowkite blazer harness do great job as well but hook is little higher about 1''. http://www.live2kite.com/images/mystic/Blazer-Seat_web.jpg
You should always go to visit Your local shop to try it on or contact them for a demo to ,,make sure You don't buy cat in a bag,,

the Ozone XC harness is my harness of choice in the buggy, it is so comfy, I have even arrived at my flying site wearing it, light, not bulky perfect for the buggy, I find I get most pull through my thigh rather than the waist, I have used waist and seat harnesses in the past, and these XC harnesses, leave them all standing by a long way....there is a mod that can be done to fix a spreader bar if you would rather have them, but personnaly, you dont need the sb, it is far more comfy without, when flying depower I just lock in with a carabina, and fixed bridles I use the roller snap block and quick release system which just attaches to the stainless loop in the front of the harness

I think I'll be placing the order for the XC next week. My current harness is the Dakine XT (not Fusion like I said earlier). My depowers are Sabre2's and I have been looking into what it would take to change out the loop for a Megatron. Until then I'll be using the beaner. I have used and old black diamond alpine climbing harness on/off for flying. Not very comfortable due to the lack of padding, but the XC looks awesome. Pretty much the same concept you are using popeyethewelder.

The XC looks just like a climbing harness, anyone try using one of those?

I tried it once and it "crowds" things a little. :( The climbing harness seems to transfer most of the pressure right between your legs. Might be ok on a naked buggy run, but with clothes, harness and unmentionables all in the same spot, it got uncomfortable. I want to get a proper harness that won't have adverse affects when the kite picks me up.

I wear a Mystic Warrior waist-seat, and I can fit into the (more) narrow PL Bug just fine. I have a 36" waist. Pure seat harnesses tend to have too much bulk down low. The Warrior is probably some over-kill for a bug but after log session with a lot of straining up-wind work last night, I appreciated the extra size to spread the load and the padded bar cover is easier on the ribs.

I also tried a climbing harness and crowds... understatement! It didn't last long. I have a DaKine waist harness that is good but it ends up in your armpits. I tried a seat harness but I didn't like the diaper feeling. :( I bought a Mystic Blazer waist harness here is a link with a picture i just found.
http://www.live2kite.com/product_info.php?cPath=66&produ...
I like it a lot it solves the ride up without diaperage. I think it is very much like the ozone harness but it comes with a bar.

Have to agree with that statement, and yes it does get crowded when you are standing with the kite at the Zenith....but when sitting down in a buggy its superb, as a lot of the pull is from the thigh area, which feels good....best thing to do is try others before you buy

Dakine Storm with roller spreader bar is my choice for buggy. I've been using it for two years and I haven't found anything I don't like about it yet.

popeyethewelder said it "best thing to do is try others before you buy" everybody is build differently and what is great for me may not be great for you. Look at the options and try out the variations and see if you can find the best for you.
