Your forum choice is fine. What does the kite do when it doesn't stay at the zenith. You imply it gets there, so we need to know what it does then. Welcome!

The kite will only sit at Zenith or any part of the edge of the window if there is enough wind. Is it always this way? Even with a good wind ? Are the brakes ( back lines ) hanging loose and in an arc when not applied ? Does it do it if you fly it 2 line ?

My guess is you either have too much brake tension or you are expecting the kite to sit at zenith just because it flies ?

Firebees are a twitchy kite !

I believe many firebee fliers have retrofited power rings on their kites. Search it out here as they are also used on the bego and there are plenty of posts with pics.

They are used to detension the trailing edge and allow the kite to get to the zenith and perform better.

doug has two firebees and they both suck....they have serious bridal stretch problems and they do not fly "on" like a normal blade style kite.....for instance he was flying in super high winds with a 2.3 and apparently it would fly with huge power and then nothing and then a sudden power-up...he ended up getting tossed pretty violently 2+ times..I saw it happen once...he was ejected out the front of the buggy like a James Bond passenger seat ejection...judging by his experience they seem like a dangerous design.....and his 7 firebee flys like a big stupid blob in the air.....pretty sure again its bridal stretch.....

I would get the manufacturer to send you the bridal lengths and switch it out for some less stretchy line...I notice the Pansh kite have stretchy bridles too....

If it is the original Firebee not the Force, you have to fly these kites nonstop. They were an inexpensive first generation race kite. I learned to fly on these kites. They cannot keep still and are not happy at the edge of the window. I still like like kite, I can fly my 3m backwards across the window.

kind regards to all who replied, i checked the brake lines and lenghtened them slightly, (which has helped) and am currently trying to find nice light winds to test power rings... i think i'm doing everything right!
just need to keep at it till i get it right...
reading some other forums i notice that firebee's are completely mad kites and need constant work to keep it up!!
hopefully this is a good thing, as if i master this kite then others should be a bit easier to fly lol
cheers guys!
