Big Wheels
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a landboard with fat tires for soft sand? Can it be done?

Hey Rye,
You didn't specify what your definition of 'big' was, but I've got 10"x3" tires on my MBS Comp 95. Works really great on bumpy grass and on hard
sand...I can hit some soft sand patches and cruise over but the sand cannot be really soft.
As a sidebar though, it makes the board pretty heavy, so not really practical when jumping!
HTH.

This is that Mongoose I was talking about in some
other nearby thread.
Those tires are close to 12 inches
iffya look close you might be able to see
where I spent some time
shaving and sanding the deck so as to
make room for the tires @ 4 inside points

Nice kitepool - been looking at different tires & like what you've done there. Couple questions -
Did you have to machine bushings to make the bearing fit the boards axles? So far when I look at larger wheels they're always 1/2" bore bearings
& the axles on the boards are metric between 1/2" & 3/8".
How are the wider wheels for turning?
How much does your whole setup weigh?
