Landsailer......?

So my first buggy started as a landsailer, then I found kiting and it became a kite buggy. About 2 times a month we get a good 30mph, it has been like this a week straight. So I have always tried going out with my 3m and it just doesnt get me going, being that it is more a stunt kite, it really doesnt pull. So I have still wanted to do the landsailer conversion, and now that I have a decent buggy, I figure its worth a shot. So I could really let this thing go on those high wind days. So any ideas where to start? I figure a 3m windsurfing sail would be a good start.

Anyone here done it?

Thanks,
NPW

And better yet! Throw a small wedge of a tarp on as a jib, and my NPW as a spinnaker! :ticking:

I don't think I can use a kit, my buggy is very custom, and square tubing. And what do you mean by the moderator is at work?

I figure go with a 3-4m sail, and this is the mast attachment system:

Here is the overall idea:

Just using a standard windsurfing mast, boom and sail. Not fabricating anything for the sail, works as is, why play with it?

I'm planning to do the same with my wide axle flexi. The only problem is that you can't really drill holes into the mast to attach the struts, because the sailboard sail doesn't rotate freely when this is done. I'll be setting mine up with a "double mast" type. I don't know what it's called, but you mount a short upright near the front supported by the two struts connected to the rear axle. Then you build a bracket that connects to this and holds in it's grasp the mast near the boom. Here's a good website that shows it much better than I'm describing it. http://www.iceflyer.com/windfly.html
The Ice Flyer ice boat uses a windsurfer sail and the set-up I'm talking about, but it appears their website is unavailable. If anyone has any good suggestions on ways I could eliminate the second short mast, I'd love to hear from you!
