Kite for bording and just having fun (lift)

Hello I am about 5ft 4 I weigh about 8st and I want to get a kite i can use with a board and that i can just take out and play with. I would really like a kite that can lift me off the ground. My price range is up to about £250 so not too expensive. I've got experiance with small traction kites like the Bullet 1.5 and really need to move up to something a bit more powerful. I have been thinking about a Flexifoil Rage 2.5m with a bar. Help needed with this decision before I go and waist my money:smilegrin:. Thanks

The Rage is designed with pull rather than lift as it's purpose.
A 2.5 isn't that much of a kite size wise. It would need some VERY BIG wind to lift you ! and then what !!! :o

If you are planning on jumping don't go smaller than a 5m. Even at 5m the kite will lift you but if you don't know how and when to redirect it will drop you like a rock.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Large kiting inexperience here.....

I do not remember what the size of the parachute I was using when I last went sky diving but, it was a big one (only 27 jumps into the training, ran out of cash :) ). Bigger is better for lift if you want a soft landing and it is in the right wind condition/speed. We never jumped in anything over 15 MPH. I got spanked pretty bad one jump in a 30 MPH squall. Cut safety line (a main cut away pulls it) then the main chute loose and picked it up in a wad.

My 4m is completely unpredictable and will pick me up and drop me like a rock in 25+ MPH.

Sorry I should have explained that when I said lift I only meant some good drag on it. All of my previous kites have just been little tiddly things that don't pull you along the ground unless your flying in a gale force wind. Lift to me equals pull... I know wrong terminology and stuff but hey...

If I could I would get a bigger kite but unfortunatly I don't have the funds at the moment.

Thanks anyhoo
