has anyome here ever had a dog take a piss over their kite while its been staked to the ground??

i was out flying the other day and stopped fot a while for my lunch when a huge great dog came and pissed on my kite... The owner stopped and watched the darn thing and when i shouted a the dog she had the cheek to have a go at me for scaring her precious dog..

i was to shocked at this point to continue arguing as she walked off telling me if i didnt want a dog 2 piss over my kite i shouldnt fly it there...

Anyone else had simmilar or worse experiences?

actually i hadn't even opened up the kite yet still had the compression strap on and i was walking out the lines and about to stake the bar out when i felt something warm on my back and it was a great dane pissing all over my harness that i already had around my waist. The owner though it was just hilarious. so funny actually that he had to get the camera out. I told him to (BEEP) the (BEEP) off and go (BEEP) himself. And felt so concerned about his saftey at the park that he called the cops. I'm only 5'5 145lbs this man had been to Mcdonalds a little too much and had 150 lb dog on the loose. anyways Cops came got both sides of the story and guy got fined for not having the Dog on the leash. HAHAHAHAHA. I still see him every now and then and he gives me such dirty looks. I smile and wave and he hates me even more and more everytime:saint:

Are you frickin' kidding me...I can't believe people sometimes. Some people are totally clueless and seem to have no respect for others. To think that she would get mad at you and not even think about apologizing...! Glad I wasn't there...I think I would have lost it!

at least im glad im not the only one who gets victimised by their dogs and owners ... The kite stinks ... Any idea on how to wash it? Because i know u cant use detergents as it destroys the nylon

I just spray mine off with a hose asap it seems fine... same for the buggy.

I now carry an ultrasonic dog trainer with me after my last incident with a jerk w/ a dog. works a charm, dogs hate it. you just point it at em and press the button. you can't hear it , but to fido it is ear piercing. It's like screaming at them in ultra high freqs. that hurts their ears.great thing is the owner has no idea why fido wants to leave so bad.

I almost got attacked by a dog while flying Actually I was packing up and the dog came running over The owner let him off the leash and he had me by the pant leg!! The owner was yelling at the dog with no prevail So I hit him in the head with my kite stake! Dont get me wrong I love dogs But not while getting bitten. Then the owner had the nerver to start yelling at me for hitting his dog well we know where that went. He is lucky he did not get the kite stake in his a$#!! Dam Dog's!

Man, if that owner would have started to mouth off, I would have took a pic of my leg, the dog (without a leash), the owner and his vehicle and then said, I'm going to contact the authorities and file a report and take your ass to court! Might be hard to prove if there were no marks but at least you would have a record of it if it happened again. Oh and if there are leash laws, then he could be fined!

on our beach ther is no leash law:flaming: so as i am riding on a perfect west wind i will let fido chace me, as far as he wants. i can usually out run them if they get agressive. but then they get a mile down the beach and loose intrest and the owner is usally flipping out running and shouting at the dog "come back fido come back". and i fly back past them grinning from ear to ear. as they now have ther dog on a leash.:D

I also have had to outrun dogs down the beach (even though there is a lease law...) I actually had an owner thank me for tiring the dog out! :puzzled: unbelievable.

Except for greyhounds dem dogs are pretty freaking fast.

I hit a dog that was off the leash 100 yards from it's owner running around aimlessly{leash law beach}and the owner got bent and started to yell at me.... but I explained that his dog depends on him to give food and water RIGHT! as well as to protect them from harm and not being on a leash is your fault not mine........then a lady jogger came up and back me up but she was a bit more adamant in her explanation...from her response my guess is that she was pretty tired of getting chased by off leashed dogs herself and summons the cops via cell phone....

dog wasn't hurt but the owner got hit in his wallet for 80 bucks for no leash

Ah... Man, reading those stories started to make me angry until i heard some of these great success stories of them getting OWNED :p. Especially like the ones where they think you're getting in trouble, but they get fined! HA!

Just get a dog whistle and tape it down to the rear axle, and when you start moving it would make noise and keep the dogs away! Like those deer whistles for cars. A deer whistle might even work.

I see a lesson in all this.
If someone has an off leash dog and starts giving you grief call the Cop's or let them have the honor . Sounds like they end up learning an expensive lesson

At my beach callin the cops is not an option.It's a long walk out there,they would kick your butt for callin them out for some senseless reason. some body better be dead or killin somebody. So I just blast em with the sonic ear hurter. bye bye fido bye bye! You could probably use one of those boat horns on a can. That would either scare the crap out of them, or make em rip your face off:wow:

We may want to borrow from the fighter kite flyers and coat our lines in glass....MUAHAHAHHAHA!!!! :evil: No but like if fido chases you in the buggy, skid, it throws sand and slows you down, maybe enough so that he runs into the back of the buggy..... Tie a bucket onto the kite and scoop him up :evil: and I am trying to find something that smokes like hell when it comes in contact with urine, wouldn't help us kiters, you never know when a dog is gonna pee on something. But this guy lets his dog pee in the same spot on our lawn EVERY DAY!! So there is the brown spot, I would love to just sprinkle some crystals there and he would never do it again :evil:

npw I really got this electronic pet trainer. If you put it by your ear you won't want to do it again. I think you can get them mail order.

Leash laws are generally city laws, sometime county. In which case the county would have jurisdiction over the city. Much the same way the state has jurisdiction over the county. The problem comes from lack of enforcement and complacency.

Just like public parks, the public beach is in a city, so just like a park, the law applies to the beach as well. Leash laws applies to any and all animals not just dogs.

Leash laws in every state that I’ve ever been in are almost exactly the same. The leash is not to be any longer than 6 feet from the hand to the collar of the animal. They always state that the person escorting the animal (which generally is but not always the owner) must have complete control over the animal at all times.

Hence the escort (woman) of said animal (dog) on the day in question would be responsible for any and all damage. One must figure out who is in charge; get them involved and people will leash their animals.

Actually if a dog pees on something it is because he thinks it is significant. So he is actually paying you a compliment
