i have been using this light wind big flat thing(145) since i started with success but i knew there had to be more.
easy to get up ride, point to point with pure edging but as soon as i give the edge, pop and jet down wind on this squirrelly almost uncontrollable
ride... drop and restart or with decent sliding transitions. enjoyable rides but upwind lines would choke out the kite. numerous downwinders were
fun and a little nice wave action but after about 4 miles the walks back where too much esp the time, the work was nothing compared to the stoke from
the ride.
also i discovered i like riding overpowered and the board was not designed to work with alot of power. always had better rides when i depowered the
kite pulling the main line in, but i would end up settling for this Mr. Rogers cruise of a ride.
so...wanting more
I fly solo most of the time and not that many guys to sponge experiences/gear samples or ideas. finally a local guy starts hitting the same launch
site we're from the same hood with easy parking and his job put him here blah blah ...he is riding this little stick and showing some skills(rider for
5yrs). anyway
I finally buy this JIMMY LEWIS 137cm. a local kiter guru, I knew him when i flew this prindle 16. he tells me the smaller board works with the over
powered conditions.
I am completely amazed! this board is incredible! the control is addictively smooth. rips upwind effortless.
so far i've had 3 sessions.
I had thought i had a crappy starter board. Now I know it was crap. i should have up graded months ago.
the concave bottom and rail set up is a huge part of board dynamics.
