Good Kite in Low Wind for ATB

I need a good Fixed bridle not too too crazy and not too lifty for Low wind days. I am still new to the ATB and need something predictable and practical. my Montana Turns into a sock on low wind days and i know Depowers are not really fun until about 12mph on ATB :borg:. So i am looking for maybe an 8m?? on low wind days 5mph-11mph. any advice??? I weigh 145lbs

ACampbell @coastalwindsports has a 7m Beamer 3 demo listed @ $235 for sale. Shoot him a U2U. Also, Zloty has a 9m Riot for sale, a bit more aggressive than the Beamer but two nice low wind engines for the land board.

If you want to go this route, my 8m Ace flies in like 4mph. That kite would be too lifty, but maybe the Blaze 1? I know Barnes has one, I'd U2U him and see what the low wind performance is like.

Thanks guys will look into that. Now what about the HQ Scout biggest size is the 5m. is that still too small for the low wind days? would be nice to still at least work with a bar system. :puzzled:

5m is pretty small for low wind days, on a board, I would say like 10-15mph wind. Look into somthing in a 7-8m range. And yes any fixed bridle would work with a crossover bar.

The 9m Riot gets my vote. Nice predictable kite. ( I have only flown the 5m )

I found my 7m Bullet left me short. My 9m Blade works well and has a little bit of range.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

My favorite low wind is the Peter Lynn Reactor 8.3m. Super stable and low lift like you want.

My used Beamer III 7m is near the wind range you want and a bargain (thanks Tridude)

The new Crossfire II's are out and the 10m size will be out soon- sure to be a low wind beast.

Big fixed bridle is definitely the way to go...In low inland wind where there could be "holey" air you'll definitely want handles for the extra control....I know, I know, bar's are better on ATB's...

My Beamer III 7.0m sold this afternoon.

I flew the new 5.0m Flexi Blurr and the new 5.0m HQ Crossfire II this aftenoon in 15-20 mph.

My arms are tired and 3" longer. Both were awesome.

Good customer in Ardmore, OK.

These guys are a couple of machinists building a super slick buggy with solid SS back axle, aluminum split rims, adjustable fork rake. I'm hoping to smuggle a prototype down here to Jekyll for some PTE (Product Testing and Evaluation- at least that's what ai tell my wife...)
