4 meter or 5???
I am looking at getting a new kite and am torn between the 4 and 5 meter Samurai. I currently own a 3 meter dual line foil (does not generate a lot
of pull, though) and want more power. Anyway, I live in SLC, Utah where we have more light wind days than heavy (today the average wind speed was
about 11 knots with gusts up to 26 and this was a very windy day). I weigh about 210 lbs (I think that is 15 stones) and will pretty much be using it
to be pulled around a park and the occasional buggy ride. An suggestions are appreciated.

I have a 3 meter speed foil from Premier. I actually spoke with the Ozone distributor (who apparently doesn't live too far from me) and was told
that my kite isn't designed to generate a lot of pull (which I gathered after reading what oter people do with their 3 meter kites- mine has only
pulled me off balance a few times, even on really windy days). Anyway, his recommendation was either the 4 or 5 meter as well given where we live
(but probably leaning towards the 4). How much wind is too much for a 5 meter? A shop's suggestion was that because I already have a really
high wind kite to go with the low wind 5 meter. I'm just trying to get a lot of opinions before I go spend a lot of money on one of these.

If you get a 5m Samurai, you may find yourself going from too little pull (as you said about your current kite) to too much in some conditions. I
think you'll find that the Samurai has considerably more pull than the same size Speed Foil.
The 4m Samurai would be a good size for most conditions offering a surprising amout of pull depending on what you intend to do with it.
I don't own a Samurai, but generally speaking, I get more use out of my 4 and 5 meter kites than any other size. And often thankful to have one
of each as there are occasions when one is either too big or too little.
But if I had to choose one, I'd get a 4m first as it allows you to fly in heavier wind than the 5.

Thanks for the input. It sounds like I need both.
