Let's do it! SUPER STOAKED!!

This was Eli's idea. I thought I would start it for him. Let's hear about you SUPER STOAKED moment. Big air, Big waves, fast ride. ect. For me it had to be at nabx for the first time. Riding in that much of a open area with lot's of fellow kiters everywhere. Cruzing as far and as fast as I wanted to go. super stoaked. The high I got from doing 39 mph for the first time was amazing. The strange thing was that the faster I seemed to go the more smooth and easier it felt. Once locked into the wind being good conditions. 18-25 with flat wind for miles and a 3m Smile on your face. What more could you ask for! Super Stoaked.

Mine has to be the time at Amelia Island FL when I was flying Tridude's/Furboskis Blade 6.5. I launched straight up and scudded about 25 feet in a 14 mph wind. Perfect for the blade. The onlooker muttered "I bet that thing could pick you up off the ground" and then I thought to myself "oh, watch this". Busted a pendulum jump that must've taken my feet about 12 feet off the ground. Wexler's (hard to impress teenager) mouth is hanging open and the onlooker asks "Did you MEAN to do that?" You can't buy stuff like that with money.

Oh now you've got me thinking. I was also super stoaked the first time I was headed toward the surf in Angus's buggy, I was flying the Beamer in 17 mph winds cross/onshore. Right before I had to turn I just sent the kite from 10:00 straight across the window to 2:00 and slid the buggy through the turn. The kite lit up right as I was finishing the turn and I accelerated away like I knew what I was doing. It was a beautiful thing to do. Won't relax till I have my own buggy. Another 2-3 months and I'll be rolling.

Good topic S38, Eli -

Gosh, there's been soo many times that have left a big smile on my face.

- First time standing up on my board in the ocean and going for about 10ft - Knew I was hooked at that point.

- First time cruising through the bumps at Walt's Cove at El Mirage.

- Finally being able to go upwind at Port Hueneme (well, still being dragged downwind and doing the walk of shame, but at least getting some upwind tacks).

- Flying in some of the crapiest inland conditions but getting that one ride where the wind stays constant for about a minute or two and parking the big Rage/Reactor about 6 ft off the ground and hearing my lines whistle!

So many !!!

Probably the day I took my trainer and rollerblades down to the big parking lot by the bay out of desperation.
I had almost given up on kiting all together. Getting no place on water for 2 years because I couldn't figure out the board. I put up my JoJo and took off :D tore around that place like I had been kiting my whole life :tumble:
EVERYTHING changed that day ! I regained confidence in myself + ended up meeting folks and finding out about all the fun that can be had off of the water and on that doesn't require surf skills.

I never knew what AOXOMOXOA meant that day but I had found it on my own !!!!!!!!

I've found it a few more times since , thanks to all of you !!!!

i still havent put my kite to good use and latly its been far to hot to do anything and of course working 5 tens and 1 eight every week istnt helping. But i would have to say the first time i decided to power up my 14 meter was the best thing thats ever happened and all the people that were just driving by that stopped to look. that was pritty amazing especially the cops that showed up. They just showed up to watch not to kick me out of the field.

There are a number of times that I can recall that have kept me kiting, here they are in no particular order:

-My first time at the beach cruising with my 6m for miles on clean onshore wind thinking to myself... "This is what I have been practicing for for all these months" The beach has only called louder, and more often since then.

-And probably my favorite was the time a storm blew through on my morning off, leaving the park literally swamped over with 20-25mph winds. I boarded, flew, and hydroplaned all over the park for hours. It was a blast.

-And the time I set up my Blade 4.9 in 20mph winds. I got yanked up about eight feet with no warning. I had just gotten the kite to zenith and thought to myself "This isnt so bad..." when it happened. The adrenaline pumped for the rest of the day (it was about 10 AM), and I had trouble sleeping.

I love this stuff, and I love reading about the great times that y'all have had, also. Thanks for the thread.
