New to buggies, need some advice please
Hi all,
I've been snow kiting for a short while now and want to get a buggy. I don't live anywhere near an open beach so most of my buggying would be done in
fields - grassy and/or after harvest time.
So, I'm looking for a used buggy to start out with or a new "inexpensive first buggy". Used buggies seem to disappear VERY quickly so I've found
something at Cloud 9. But I know as much about buggies as I do brain surgery so I was wondering if any of you have any experience/thoughts/opinions on
what Cloud 9 is offering. Please see:
Cloud 9 buggies on e-bay
Would this be a decent first buggy? Or, does anyone have a buggy they're looking to sell? Yes, I've been watching the for sale boards but buggies
don't show up to often and disappear fast.
Your thoughts and suggestions are welcome. Thank you,
j

Yep, lots of information here on the Rockville.
Summary - Problems with the seat and I've personally had some problems with the front wheel coming off and rear wheel (luckily I wasn't going that
fast). Other than that, no problems :ticking:
I would personally wait for a used PL or Flexi to show up on ebay or some other forum, but they do go fast and I personally hate to wait. Hell, you
might be able to bargain them down to $250 - after all, I got mine new from another seller for $199.
Good luck and if you decide to purchase the Rockville please share your experience!

Kyte Slinger,
This is where being a noob buggier sux, I've heard a lot of good and a lot of bad about PL buggies. And at $475 that is out of my wife's, opps, I mean
my budget for now
I've heard nothing but great things about the Flexis, but dayum, they're hard to find used. Guess I'll keep looking. Thanks,

It was the older Peter Lynn buggies that had problems. Things are much better now. Even back then people should have cut some slack. The whole concept
was so new he needed to work on things a bit to stand up to all different needs. That's what you get for being ahead of your time !
That is a good deal on a good buggy that you won't trade for a while. Maybe never if you aren't a racer. If you buy the Kite Trike Tell the wife to be
prepared for you getting another in the not too distant future. OR...... she can loosen up a bit and not have to see 2 of the beasts around the house.

go libre all the way, find a used one if you can but the libre's are the best if you ask me. I never really cared for the PL I have a flexi and the
seat is too high which makes it roll too easy. It was my first buggy and I had a very steep learning curve.
But the Libres are a bit more expensive. I got a vmax new for about $750, but they may be even more now with the exchange rate being what it is.
NAPKRA: US32
my bag:
Ted's Profoil 1.5m
HQ beamer 1.4m
Ozone Samurai 2.0m
JoJo RM+ 2.5m, 3m
PL Vapor 3.8m
PL Viper S 5.3m
Ozone Frenzy 05 10m
PKD Century 6.5m
Libre Hardcore
Libre V-Max

I understand you guys' points. I'm on board w/ buy quality once instead of try to save and end up spending more in the long run by buying twice.
Hmm... looks like I'll prolly have to sit and save for this summer I guess. Makes more sense to wait until I can afford a quality ride and really
enjoy it. Pisser.

:wow:That is about the MOST sensible response I have heard to a problem
on here in a LONG TIME !!! :wow:
Dagon is MOSTLY right about the Libre. Unless your goal is freestyle and air. Worth saving for !!! You will have time to study up !

i bought a buggy from cloud9. absolutely no problems at all. i've only used mine a dozen times though, so I don't know about durability other than i
have gone extremely fast (in 30mph wind) and took it into a really long broad slide to slow it down and it held up fine. I rarely use it though
because i need a direct onshore wind to use it and that don't happen often.
