New Kiter in Fort Lauderdale, Fl!
Hey All, Have been into stunt kites the past few years and have the itch to get into power kiting.
Have been lurking around the boards and checking out kite reviews to figure out which first kite to purchase.
I am 6ft, 210lbs. Have an interest in the Beamer 4m. I want to get dragged around the beach and eventually find a place to buggy or board. Would this
be a good first kite for me?
Thanks for your help.

Don't take it personally. I think the forum might just be a little bit overrun with "new kiter" posts right now. Read any of them an you'll get good
advice. Congrats on the new kite.
My advice for first flights goes like this.
1. If you have a helmet, wear it. If not, you really should think about getting one.
2. The wind for your first flight should be 5-8 mph and nothing over 10. Smooth steady beach winds would be ideal.
3. Don't fly your kite near people, or powerlines or roads. If you are flying in a place where other kiters fly ask them for a rundown on the flying
guidelines for the spot.
4. Wear the kite killers, test them out to make sure you're comfortable letting go, but try NOT to use them. You should always be in control and
should land the kite at the edge of the window if it starts to get hairy.
5. This last one is very very important..................HAVE FUN:D!
