Critizise me - I bought FS Speed I 17

So I sold all my kites but two pulses, and bought Speed I 17 meter for 500$ shipped.

As wind in Toronto in summer is around 10 knots, I hope this kite would propel me on water from 8 knots to about 14 knots. Then I can put my pulse 10m on the water.

I doubt I will do a 1.5 mode or maybe I should?

Is the rotor leash safety really that bad? Can I survive without FDS?

Is it going to propel me at 15 km/h on 148 Carbinha Prodigy Board and me weighting 150 pounds?

No criticism

I have a sa 19, and im very happy with it for light wind. from what ive read, your kite is great, but without the 1.5 mod you don't have as much depower. So... seems like if you get steady wind, and can fly with winds under say bout 15?? knots you should be fine. If knot, :) then get the 1.5 mod, and add the FDS. You can get the specs for a fds line and make your own for much less then they sell.

My rec is 1.5 mod and fds. Have fun.

I agree with bourck

I doubt in Totonto you have steady winds. The Speed1 will not be as stable as a Speed2 so the mod can help certainly

But the thing is you got it cheap, and you wont lose much on this one, if ever you resell it.

If your on a low budget, then take the time to read on it, and try do the mod 1.5 + FDS yourself. It's worth it, in the meantime take it out in low winds only

OF COURSE at 150lbs, you will get going at 10 knots. Doing well in light winds require some practice too. I just got through that step recently.

Have fun

just flew it, wow, what a powerhouse. was jumping in 6 knots, doing some pendulums. wow. kinda slow. Reminds me of SA 19, not as good of course, but I can't wait to try it on water.

you're set! that quiver is tight, if the 10 gets you going in about 13mph. 19 SA would be sweet though
