Pan Maker on Ebay

Anyone know what's happened to that pan maker on ebay in the uk? I've been putting off getting one for a year and now i realised he doesn't sell them, or anything anymore :(.

No one happens to have his email do they?

I originally thought he was wanting to make his own pots and pans, but since this is a kite forum and he posted in kite buggying, I gave benefit of the doubt and figured he was looking for something to save his rear end if he was buggying on rough terrain, referred to as a belly pan.

silvereaglekiter: he doesn't sell any pans and he's not from the uk.
BeamerBob: "Anyone know what's happened to that pan maker on ebay in the uk?"
WELDNGOD: I don't want to waste money on trying it. He was the only one who made pans that fit most buggies. everyone elses are model/ make specific.

I know who you mean. There used to be a link on the Flexifoil site but the whole site has been restructured and it's gone.

Wow, those look nice but $110 is kinda steep I would think. Are they going to make a big difference in your rear if you hit a stump or something? I.E. are they thick enough to deflect an object? On the other hand, I wouldn't want to sully up my buggy with something cut out of a garbage can either. Something in between would be "just right".

what's wrong with that? the material is better, it's a fraction of the price and will probably last longer. i think garbage cans are metal anyway (not too sure on my english deviants). Plastic bins are plastic.

I can't really tell what the quality of material is by rips. The cut work is nice though. I've actually seen where someone cut out a buggy front fender from a plastic garbage can. They really made it look nice when they were done with it. It doesn't bother me that those expensive ones are cut out of a flat sheet because they really do fit well and have that custom look. They just seem to cost more than what goes into them. Maybe the graphics add significant cost but there was no discount for a plain black one.

Incidentally, to address our two countries separated by a common language, here in the US a bin is something you would get to organize items you store in the closet or garage. It could also be the box you put recyclables in waiting for pickup, usually made from plastic. A garbage can is just that, regardless of the material it is made from.

Actually,

US: tomaydow
UK: tomartoe

Anyway, i found him. he temporarily stopped making them but said he should start again. if you see them you wouldn't be able to tell they were a plastic bin. they have straps instead of cheap-ass wire ties which means it fits almost any buggy and it doesn't look so home made. at first i thought they were factory made.

but best of all, they're £10. If you want one, his ebay nick is hawkertyphoon1b.

Hey just an addition I picked up a sheet of poly carbonate 4mm for cheap and it has enough material for 4. It cuts with avation snips. Just measure the joints leave a bit extra hold in place trim and fasten. Easy, it took me 2 hours and the best of all it is clear! Here is a pic of it just after a wash so you can see the water drops on the surface.
