Suggest a Land Board for me

6’, 200lbs, and the terrain I will kite on 90% of the time is short cut grass. This will be my first board so one that is forgiving and easy to learn on is the goal. Price is not a big issue but let us try to keep it sensible. Kites in the bag are a Rage 2.5, 3.5, 4.7 and 6.0 and a Sting 2.4 and 3.3 all on handles.

Thanks

I learned on an MBS Blade, same exact build as you, same conditions, too. There is one on ebay for a little more than a hundred bucks as we speak. Very durable board IMHO. I dont have a lot of experience with other boards, but I can say that I have seen the difference between some newer, cheaper boards, and I like my Blade.

I have been looking at an upgrade, though, and there are a couple of good-looking Ground Industries boards out there, too.

I'm sure someone will be by to provide a little more insight.

P.S.- Dont forget helmets and pads. Some impact shorts will be a really good idea, too.

They both are made for kiting

I ride a Flexifoil Kava deck. It's pretty big but I don't think it's availible anymore.

I like the MBS 95, the Comp 90 and the Flexifoil Flexideck. The Flexideck seams to be the new model to the Kavadeck. All the MBS boards seem normal but I wonder if the asymmetric design of the Flexideck is worth it. speleopower any info on the Kavadeck?

I've had my Kava for almost 2 years now and it is holding up perfect. I don't do big jumps on it but for cruising it is great. I do clean it up pretty well after each use including rinsing salt water off, air dry then spray all metal parts with WD40. I also relube all of the bearings after every 6 or so rides.

I found the asymetric deck worth it for cruising. Not sure about doing hardcore tricks but if it's Flexifoil they must have had a reason for making the deck asymetric. It works great for me.
