If you see any part numbers on the race's PM the numbers I may be able to get them from the auto-parts store I used to work for. We had a big book with nothing but bearings in it. If you dont see any numbers, and you can drop one off to me Ill see what I can do with it.

I buy my bearings from VXB. They are cheap, but I end up replacing mine several times a year whether I used $15 bearings or $3 bearings.

I am willing to bet that my PL came with Chinese bearings. I have used SKF and generic Chinese, both are screwed after couple of trips in salt water. I will stick with the cheap ones. For the price of SS bearings, you can replace a lot of cheap ones.

scud, ya got a good point. My newest creation has tapered roller bearings in hubs w/ spindles( got em from the front end of a golf kart) They have good seals on em ,and they are easy to repack with grease! I'm thinkin they are gonna be the bomb :alien:

Pulling bearings apart and re-greasing six bearings, in your case 10?, seems like a lot of work. You can get 6204RS bearings cheap (used by most of us 20x47mm ~$2 including shipping in batches of 30) on the net.

Mine aren't metric,I use 1 3/8"x5/8" double sealed roller bearings, even in the head tube.

Here are 10 bearings for 11.95$Ca. Shipping cost to Canada 12 bucks. He has eight lots of 10. He shipped the additional bearings on the same order. 30 bearings ~48$C Less than 2 bucks a set.
weldngod, check and see if your bearing is a common size. It maybe that the Chinese make your bearing. It has to be easier to replace than re-grease. VBX bearing 10 for 24$US (ball bearings).

I searched a little further and found set of 50 62042rs for 50$ and 25$ shipping to Canada. You could corner the market on buggy bearings

Knowing WG like I think I do, he takes a certain pleasure in the satisfaction of personally repacking a set of bearings. It's sorta like mowing grass. It's mindless and therapeutic, and virtually free except for time. I get satisfaction from quality and deals though. Especially both at the same time. I like the occasional bearing packing too.

Is there any downside to these bearings from VXB or others like online bearings or cheaper online bearings? These are the same size as mentioned above for the current Flexi bug.

They are reasonably priced but I wondered if there is a reason they should be avoided. There is one listing for a lot of 50 bearings for a total of around $40. You could never use that many but one of us could buy a few of those and then share them with the group. I apologize for stepping on any toes of those that sell bearings retail. I welcome discussion on the merits of one bearing over another.
