New landboarder here
Need some help here, I just got into landboarding. It was my first day today it was very fun. I made it all the way down the beach but had a hard time
coming back up. I dont know how to really. I ended up folding up the kite and skating back up the beach( I think the wind was dieing). I am learning
on a trainer kite that my stepdad is letting me use and i am teaching myself pretty much how to fly the kite.
So my questions are
how do you guys keep yourself going down the beach fast and then come back up the beach?
My mom is a clean freak so i have to clean my board, how do i clean the sand off of it without it getting rusty?
How can i tell if the wind is right, and if it is strong enough to pull me?
And do I need to be using a different kite besides the trainer one, or will that work?
Thanks for answering and i would love some tips aslo. This is only my second day flying the kite and i've only been flying for about 2 and half hours.

It will all come with time. Plenty of good info on www.kitesurfing.org and http://www.coastalwindsports.com/TutorialMenu.Html to start. Also on this site is good. It is all about the wind window . Make sure you
understand it 1st. You can only ride directly up and down the shore if the wind is blowing mostly onshore. You can only ride at a small angle into the
wind. If you are underpowered you may not even be able to hold a cross wind course. If you did have a good onshore wind chalk it up to the fact that
we learn things faster / better in one direction than the other. ALWAYS learn a new thing both ways right away !!!!! Try to use your weak side until
it all becomes even. If you don't do it right away it will make for BAD habits !!! The trainer kite will get you going. Sounds like you will pick up
on things fast. Good news is , You will enjoy that kite in bigger and bigger winds as you improve. Bad news is, You will be needing a bigger kite and
more power in winds that scare you now very soon.Start saving up !!!! Please, PLEASE wear a helmet ! Head injuries are extremely common :!:

Thanks for the reply lots of useful information. My mom is gonna make me wear a helm and i already got a bunch from skateboarding. And yes i am
learning things both ways and not adjusting to just one, like when using one hand to steer the kite i use both my left and right hand equally.
also what is a good psi for the tire for riding on the sand?

I would recommend a motocross style helmet to help prevent face injuries as well as having better overall protection than a skateboard helmet. When
you wipe out hard you end up either on your face holding your handles or on your back which snaps your head back. Don't ask how I know all this
Also, make sure to wear the biggest most padded knee pads you can find. I like 187 skateboard pads.

The thing I like about padding is it helps me feel I'm prepaired to go big. Removing some of the hesitation that comes with age.
Knee pads will be a huge value when you start to learn to jump. A full face helmet as well
I'm not sure about PSI for your area. Generally a softer tire will run better on softer sand. Harder tires for harder surface.

About your kite you will soon want a bigger one for faster rides and more upwind performance.
Cleaning your gear = I take the garden hose and put the carwashing nozzle on it. from there squirt everything down
and be sure to use the water presure to spin the wheels and wash the bearings while they are spinning.
Believe me after boarding on the beach for a few years now it is worth it to work on those bearings, i've been through my fair share of them.

Im just mainly going to be using as landboarding for when i have to use the trainer kite for 30 hours, then im going to move onto kite surfing. But i
will probably be going back and forth between the both of them when the conditions is bad for one and good for the other.
