npw9 bridal

hey does any body know where to find a cascade bridal template for a NPW9 3.4?.....my 3.4 recently got stuck in a power line/pole :o...luckily the wind miraculously untangled the kite after I disconnected from it and soiled my self...and it eventually came down..it didn't look good for a bit there...but anyway the bridal got all discombobulated..and there is a small 1.5 inch rip...coulda been so much worse.... but I figure a cascade is in order since I need to replace it any way.....

The site Nick posted works great.

Just take your time and do not rush and before you know it you will have a new bridle.

The reccomended line for that kite would be spectra, probably 50#, but I used dacron on my 5.5m and over such a short distance it really isnt even a factor, I just wouldn't use dacron flying lines. And over the distance that a 3.4 would have, I wouldn't worry about it at all. And should only cost you about $20, good luck, talk to either me or susan if you get stuck.

If you do run into trouble I will try and help out in any way. So far I have made between 15 to 20 nasa wings and have figured out a lot.

I might be out of touch for a while depending on where Gustav hits. Right now they are predicting it will come in not to far from me and I will be evacuated and not able to post unless I can use someone elses computer.

well I have started redoing the bridal and have come across some problems with the program vs my kite....I have noticed that the stock bridal positions for my 3.4 do not match the ones on the calculations. So I have compromised by using the 3.2 size bridal...I hope that works...plus I noticed that my stock kite does not come with c1 Is that normal?

It's also possible that you have the NPW9 and the bridals are for the NPW9b, I believe there is actually a difference, he may also have that calculator, see if that matches, also check the NPW5, I also don't believe any kite companies ever made the 9b......

If not shoot him an email, hes like the NPW god!!!

Peace,

Yep the HQ NPW9 and the online calculators for the NMW 9b are slightly different.

I've got most sizes of HQ NPW here. If you need a bridle leg measured then just shout!

Cheers, A
