AVOID IT and ALL other 2 line kites !!!!!!!!

With the addition of brakes you will have far more control .

You can do brake turns and reverse launch after a crash.

With a 2 line you will be stuck. Having to set up over and over each time you crash.

The ONLY 2 line you may want to consider is the Sensei ( sp ) It is the only truly relaunching 2 line foil out there.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

What kind of answer would you be looking for here? Probably quite similar to other 3m trainer kites. Less than a 4m. More than a 2m.

I'd go 4 lines for sure if you want it for traction kiting. And I'd go for a minimum of 3 lines even if you only want to use it for a training kite for kite surfing. The 3rd line will allow you to reverse launch it.

Exactly.

Mangs, be sure you know whether you're getting the Pro or the normal model. The Pro will be less frustrating for you to learn on.

As far as power, it'll depend on the windspeed. What avg windspeed/flying area do you plan on flying it in?

I get the feeling money is tight for you ?
If you are only able to afford a kite in the $150's I think you may be stuck with Pansh :(
In that price range you have 2 choices. The 4m Ace or 5m Blaze.
I have a 5m Ace that never sees the light of day. It is the more high performance design of the 2. A bit more tricky to fly but lots of lift and speed. ( at 4m you will get lifted but the float won't be there )
The Blaze looks cool I have to admitt :ticking: It will be a bit less lifty and slower. More stable and a easier to fly. It won't have as much lift as the 4 but when you do jump it will be a better size for riding it out.
Pansh's lines and handles aren't as good as some other brands you are looking at but they are usable. Often Pansh kites will need a bit of adjustment. Basicly just check that your lines are all equal and then see if you need to add or take away a bit on the brake lines once you fly it.

For a first time power kite the Rush Pro is fun and safe. I just had mine out for an hour and had it doing figure 8's in the middle of the power zone in steady 12mph winds.
I was able to lean back but not fully or I would fall over - so it pulls less than 200lbs on the bar. I would probably guess the pull to be around 75lbs on the bar in the power zone at that wind speed.
The nice feature about the three line kites when learning is the kite killer on the brake line.
Overpowering gust just let go immediately and all is good.
Then when comfortable you can use the third line to land the kite right back on your backpack from launch point even dead centre of the wind window.
So it is a really fun kite to play with - as far as pulling on a board etc... you need winds that hit 20-30 mph range.
In the 12 mph range I was able to do snap stalls with it although it will fold in on itself really quickly the same applies to any time you fly towards the windows edges it will tip fold as you approach the edge - easy to recover from and good practice I guess.
When I first switched from stunt kites to power kites it was a bit overwhelming and now the Rush Pro is my stunt kite (minus doing flapjacks or lazy susans etc.... it will do nice spins though even dead center of the power zone and is fairly fast in turn response although I have no other large kites to compare it to. As a first kite I would recommend it highly and be prepared to buy more bigger ones soon.
Of course one can never own too many kites. :singing:

cheers

Excellent reply Rocky!

I agree with everything you stated. The Rush 300 pro is a great first kite. It is indeed a 3 line kite (well, technically its a 4 line kite with a bar but the two brake lines are connected together into one and then ran to the bar).

It has very good power, not as much as some of the higher performance foils but better than most other trainer kites. You can buggy / landboard with it in the stronger winds but it still flies very well in the lighter winds.

Hope that helps.
