they are bomber...I doubt they'll break under the usual NW Oregon riding conditions.

Got 10 sets of the 2.5" wide rims (standard) and 6 sets of the 4" coming. I have them on my bgifoot using the 2.5 up front and the 4" on the back. Be aware they are different from the regular rims we use, first they are all 20mm bearings, second I make a spacer for them because the width on the outside between the bearings is shorter, and third if you have an smaller axle on the front fork and adaptor is required.
Hey we are on top of things and so far they are holding up great, look cool, lightest one todate, very strong in design, and are way cheeper than the ones we used to get. :D

Hmmm I ordered a single 4" for my front wheel, I didn't want to replace the AS in back. That is good news Jon I was wondering what they would be like!

Yep that's them all right. Thirty of them are on the boat and should be here in a month or so. We have adaptors made for the front forks to change them from 20mm to 12mm and spacers for the rear also. They are on a Hardcore (front suspension) bigfoot and are doing well. We use the standard width 2.5'" on the front and the 4" on the rears.

So how much will these set a PKF member back for a set? With what I need for a Flexi bug in spacers and stuff. What width wheels are needed for flexi wide tires, I think they are elsewhere called midis.

Ordered on 20/9, delivered 24th Oct direct from Hong Kong. I asked for the cheapest sea shipping, but due to a delay in the order they sent via the more expensive Air + Sea for free. Nice job ...

The total cost for three 4inch rims and one (barrow) 2.5 inch rim was £110.34. GBP. I got the extra 2.5" just in case BFL in 4" are too wide for my forks...


They came well packed in a plastic box containing four seperate cardboard boxes. One for each wheel


Finish on the rim is a nice "smooth polish"


The spokes and middle have a dimpled finish, with a "turned" finish to the outside


Bearing is the 6004, and the axle diameter = 20mm


2.5" rim weight = 1.41 kg


4" rim weight = 1.65 kg


Will have to get them down to my local tyre fitters soon to get the BFL transfered onto them!

Beamer if you use 12mm bolts then I have the adaptors and spacers for the rims.
Andya I used the 2.5's up front on my moonlight fork because the 4" was too wide. Should be no problem on a bigfoot fork.

I just noticed the dollar to euro exchange is better now . The shipping stills bites though.
I wonder if you could powdercoat them before use, so they are really clean for the process. They need to be coated for protection, Raw alum. doesn't like saltwater at all, so they need to be painted at a minimum.If you don't ride at the beach ,I wouldn't worry about it too much. BUGGY BLING!!

Weldgod this is TIGKING and all you need to do if you buggy the beach with these rims is rinse with fresh water and a good car wash and wax product (all in one) once in a while. Have run a set I got from Kurt Anderson some years back and they still bling.

Are they clear coated? My bug turns submarine from time to time.So corrosion prevention is a must.
I would recommend that the bearings be replaced w/ stainless to avoid electrolysis.Nice to hear from other master manipulator of molten metal! WG

Hey Weldgod I am just a lowly tigKING and not on the same level of molten metal. The car wash stuff that has the wax in it seems to keep the bare aluminum free from corrosion. I must admit I use Semi Chrome polish every once in a while. We have been using synthetic grease in the bearings with good results after salt water immersion. By the way what the #@%$#!e are you doing in the water? LOL

jellis, every now and then I'll do somethin' stupid or wrong ,and I'll have to jump outta the bug (not always by choice) and deal with the kite. The beach I ride on has a slope to it.So occasionally it rolls itself into the Chesapeake bay!
I still want to check into powdercoat, they would look badass lime green!
The electrolysis I was speaking of isn't to do w/ bearings. But the wheel itself will corrode. When you put aluminum and steel together,you make a battery. At the expense of the aluminum.
But sounds like you aren't having any probs. Just in case ,next time you pull bearings look around where the bearings meet aluminum for little white pits of corroded aluminum ,that is what electrolysis does . Might take 20 yrs. , when you add salt water to the mix ,it might take 3 yrs.

I always pack a little grease on the outside of the bearing and the area on the wheel where the bearing contacts and so far it is able to keep the corrosion down. Yes I do have two types of adaptors that sell with my wheels, one adaptor will allow you to run the 12 mm bolts and the other is a spacer for the front and rear because the bearing area is not as wide as the regular buggy wheels.

Hey guys! I just got mine today it looks good! I think there is a clear coat on it, there is a small drip on the centre of the hub of something clearish. I don't know if it is a real protective coating or just some kind of light coating to keep it looking good for shipping. I guess time will tell!

That is the standard clear coat they put on new alloy rims. If they did not coat em', they would be crappy lookin, in 3 mos.
That tells me that I'll have to bead blast them before powdercoating.
