What are the approx wind ranges for fixed bridle kites used on a bar for landboarding in grass?
Specific kites that I am wondering about are:
Ozone Sami
HQ Scout
Ozone Haka
etc

you need to know what sizes of kites your looking at getting.

Ozone and HQ have the wind ranges on there webs sites. You just have to decide what size you want.
Generally bigger kites lower wind conditions and smaller kites higher wind conditions

Here is the real answer . What you can see is that for a nice quiver people often fill them in something like this. The half sizes might not be completely necessary but you can see that people end up wanting to fill in just about every size to have the right size for the right winds.

I wouldn't say that any one of the kites that you listed is going to have much of a smaller or larger range than any other.

I weigh 190 and i landboard comfortably on well cut grass...

7.7m up to 10 mph
6m up to 15, or so mph
4.7m 15-20 maybe
3.5m also 15-20
2.5m 18- ?
1.8m 20-30
1.7m over 25 to ? (havent been that lucky)

Bear in mind that I have been flying for a while, know how to control the kite... wear protective gear, and my park isnt huge... so I dont really push it either.

the ground you fly on affects your wind range as well -- soft dry sand expands the upper end, hard ground or even tarmac reduces it.

quality of wind also: If it is a steady smooth 15 (onshore beach wind) mph I can fly my blade and take a chance with my Ace 8 on soft dry sand, but if it is gusty and wiggly (inland / offshore breeze) I have to size my kite for the gusts and put up with being underpowered the rest of the time.

and the size of the field as well -- if I have half a mile of room I can push my limits much more comfortably than on my usual field with 50m by 75m on a low tide.

and also the number and skill level of folks about... Lots of sunday beach-goers = smaller kite / empty beach to myself = quite a bit bigger / and flying with a few folks who can fly better than me = push my limits

edit: sorry, posted too quick -- never mind the ground bit... & I don't landboard yet, you need a few more landboarders giving you their wind ranges for the kites in your quiver!
