hey fever
i remember back in the 60`s when i was just a little guy. i made a parachute out of a sheet and tied it to my bike. the damm thing dragged me down my block with no way to control it. i jumped off my bike and the damm thing keep on going without me. until it hit a mail box down at the end of my street. now that i think about it. it was funny. :wee:

A friend and I once skateboarded through a horrible rain storm at night by tying a sheet to one ankle and holding the opposite corners in our hands. We managed to make it 5 miles to another friend's house without accident or catching cold. Ah, the good 'ol days!

I bought a power kite and would sit on an ice chest lid... zooom across the field, and then do it again. May not have been wheels, but I was hooked after that.

There are a few vintage video threads going on... here is a video of a skateboard sailing guy from 1976...

This one is wacky, but something I could see Nick trying...

I used to make sled kites when I was a kid from 55 gal. lawn-and-leaf bags and cruise down the cul-de-sac. But I was only good at going directly down wind.
