Best way to land a PL V2 - w/out activating the QR???

What is the best way to self-land your V2 without releasing the chicken loop? Do you guys use the handles on the Zero 7 bar?

Thanks for your help guys

fly to the edge of the window, unhook, grab my OS handle and let the bar go. I only do this in lighter winds........................I like to deploy safeties on a regular basis just to stay sharp if really needed.

Saturday we had lightish winds so I dropped the V19 to the edge of the window, grabbed the lower wingtip's lines and yarded it down but normally I head to the edge and pull the pin. I'm using an 04 bar I believe and yes, it's a pain to reload but at least I know it works and is reloaded properly each time I pull it.

very true - with the muscle memory - nothing like saying "now how does this work again?" as your getting shot around to an untimely demise. Or you can have somebody catch the kite at the edge of the window - kitesurfers are good for this - they always come up to me whenever I'm either launching or landing my rig and giving me all these crazy hand signals they learned in kitesurfing school. when they get close enough they usually holler out if I need any help - Its nice to have a stranger that knows what they're doing help a lending hand. My thanks goes out to those that have helped me in a time of need.

good call on muscle memory.......... During my aircraft engine runs days, emergency procedures (fires, auto accels, hot starts, stalls, AB blowouts, flameouts, etc..) were committed to memory. Monthly dry runs in the #@%$#!pit and simulators gave you the instincts/muscle memory for switch and throttle positions/locations, and as important, keeping your cool. Using your emergencies to land on a regular basis will do the same thing.........................certified on the following aircraft........F 15 A,B,C,D, and E models, F 16 A, and B models, B 52Gs, KC 135 A, and R models, and C 17s....................
