If your doing a handles verses bar fight. I think handles will win. If I fight someone with 2 handles I will win because I can hit 2 times and get in close where the bar won't do any good. :tumble:
I'm feeling silly and whacky with the pain killers in me right now.:wee:

Probably most people that know how to fly with handles fly both bars and handles. Those that don't know how to use handles will only fly with a bar.

Learn with handles and you can fly either bars or handles. Learn on a bar and your stuck.

Touché. I have a bar for my Beamer but haven't used it in the longest time. Handles for fixed-bridle all the way!

I tried a B3 8.5 and 5m Ozone Samurai on bars and quickly went back to handles. Again personal preference but just getting into the activity, handles and safety equipment.................

Handles for static flying 100% of the time. I'd use a bar only in really nice smooth winds for cruising.

That is a tough call ?
I agree that you get more control using handles but using a bar has it's own appeal. More so if you are on the right kite , with the right ride.

When flying my fixed bridles I normally just larkshead the power lines to my index finger and the brakes on my pinky. That allows me to really feel the lines and tweak them ever so slightly when needed. Bars and handles are for panzies :moon:

When my fingers get too tired though, I go right for my handles

handles. Gotta goose those brakes in light winds. I fly Peter Lynn Reactors a lot; a little tug on the brakes gives a nice surge.

I fly a homemade crossover bar on my 8m Ace, I do indeed feel the loss of control, but in 5 mins I forget and it feels like I'm flying one of my depowers, on ocasion I'll forget and pull the bar in lol. I like to be able to run with one hand and drag my fingertips through the snow/grass

handles way more control , much faster turns and brakes are almost instant with the ability to control power like a light switch

when you have the right size of kite for the wind range

and a kite on handles stropped is so smooth an effortless when dialed in.

flown both depower and stropped

stropped wins hands down (but gotta luv that throttle feel from depower)

I did forget about that, buggy is handles every time, but board, skis, blades, anything but a buggy I guess...is a bar for sure :)

I have both fixed bridle kites on handles and de-power kites on bars. Lately, I've been flying my de-powers more than my fixed bridle kites. Just personal preference. You get a lot more control out of handles, no doubt, but I really like parking the bar and pulling it in for that throttle control.

Oh.. well.. since you said that, if the kite isnt a de-power, I wouldnt dream of flying it on a bar. Gotta stick to the handles. :)

I put my vote in for a bar.
NOT because it's that much better but that I'm always behind the underdog !

Two line foils like 1.5-3m in way too much wind is nice.

Handles on Race kites for obvious reasons.

I'd like to try my 5m Haka on a fixed bar in 20mph nw at sunset beach, I think it'd be stupid fun, even on the water.

I'm 60/40 for handles because I race buggies. I prefer bar on a kgb aka: kitelandboarding

I started on the depower bar, and have some handles and a bar for my fixed. I like the handles better for fixed on a buggy, much better control. But it's a good workout, so when I'm lazy I prefer to use a bar and harness; plus you can have a free hand for a beer! Still haven't gotten user to the stop completely.

For skudding I like a bar seat harness since it pulls below my center of gravity... It's more like a swing than a superman ;)

But at least for me handles on a board absolutely sucks :) Handles are way to far above my center of gravity. I'd rather have a crossover bar with safety release and a harness on boards.
