which kite ??? help

hi everyone !! as some of you already know i am new to kiting and have been picking up the basics with a cheap 4m kite ! think ive kinda got the hang of it now and will be looking for a better quality kite very soon ! possibly a little bit bigger ! something that is a bit of an alrounder if there is one ! that will pull me on the land board and maybe a bit of snow kiting with board and also got a bit of lift so i can get a bit of air also ! i like the look of the PKD range of kites but not sure which one would suit me ! can anyone offer a bit of advice please !! mogsie

Fixed bridle kites have a limited wind range.

A depower kite will allow you a much larger wind range + be a better kite for jumping. Very few people use fixed bridle kites for snowkiting. I did for a while but it was a bother + less safe.

What are the winds typically like in your area ? Inland or coastal?

A 10m depower kite tends to be the best all round size for a single kite quiver.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

I live in a coastal town on the edge of the lake district ! before i bought a kite it used to be very windy but now it all seems to have stopped ! :puzzled: on average between 6 &16 mph through summer and between 16 & 30 mph during winter ! but occasionaly can pick up to 46-52 mph+ . the local beach has about 4km of uninterupted sand which is quite good ! and we get snow on the mountains every winter !

Sounds like a 6 - 8 m Depower kite will be your best choice ?

That No wind thing is normal after buying a kite! Usually it lasts about 2 weeks ? It's called the new kite curse!

I did a bike tour of Europe and the UK in 1990. Camped at Grange over Sands for one night. When the tide was out you could see where the name came from. It must be an awesome place to buggy.
