Flysurfer Voodoo

I've got a line on a second hand Flysurfer Voodoo that I'm considering. It's an older kite and I can't dig up much info on it, only a (very good) review over at RKs.....

Anybody have any experience with these? THe price is mighty good, and from the sounds of it the kite is in good condition, but I'm wary of a kite this old.

Any Thoughts?

It's a 10m RTF by the way....

Oh, and I know I already have a 10m Blaze II, but I'm looking to potentially power a trimaran kayak with this so it would replace the blaze for land and be new for the water....

I have a 10m I got last year. Very cool kite...first time I ever flew a three liner.

I have flown it about 10 times now mostly in the water. I'll say it doesn't go up wind very well in the gusty conditions at the lakes I fly in. It's very lifty and it will kick your butt if you don't give it a lot of attention. It turns a little slower than my other kites the same size but provides plenty of power. Other than that it's a pleasure to fly. It's very quick and easy to unpack and get on the lake...usually. I like having it with me as a back-up for when I find new leaks in my LEI kites.

I plan on using it more for landboarding when I get time to head to the beach this summer.

Let me know if you want to know anything specific about it.

little foggy in the brain...i think the voodoo replaced the titan and the titan was WAC equipped. so the voodoo is WAC equipped.
send it off to Powerzone (john) and he'll mod it to current standards for very reasonable price. he can tune it too.
(i'm sure he can mod/tune a voodoo)

Thanks for the input wind-dave. I've read good things about the 10m but the 14m seems to be a mixed bag. So it's hard to find consensus on a kite when different sizes fly with different characteristics. Sounds like the 10 is decent though.

revpaul - The voodoo is WAC equipped from what I've read. What exactly are the "current standards"? Perhaps a question for powerzone? Hopefully he'll chime in here eventuallly, if not I'll shoot him a message.

I'm leaning towards getting it. It's around $300 mark (RTF) does that seem like a fair price or am I blinded by the glory that is the FS reputation?

that's a pretty good price. i asked john these tings re: titan so i'm sure the same can be said for a voodoo.
john can upgrade kite to 4 or 5th (FDS) line. i think depower range is between 1:3 and 1:4 for that kite (i might be confused with titan) anyhoo, john can mod depower range from (approx) 1:4 to (approx) 1:8.

I like to know if that mod can be done on this kite also. I would dig it a lot more if there was more depower available.

big ben ,

i have a titan 9.5 modded by John (powerzone) got about 20hrs on really haven't been able to work it in rotation over my arcs' . powerful kite, flies in light wind it is a slow docile kite and the depower mod makes it decent fun around 10-15mph. kites in good shape john also added a fds(5thline) so it's super safe.

yours for $250+ shipping

it just sitting here doing zero
