water and snow harness
Hey all-
I'm in the market for a new harness (the old climbing harness has got to go!). Im looking for something that will serve me well on snow/land and
water. I haven't done any kitesurfing yet, but I know it is in the very new future. I'm mostly concerned about a typical waist harness riding up
while using it over a snowboard jacket. Then the other concern is a seat harness not fitting over all of the cold weather gear. I found the Ocean
Rodeo Session harness, which seems to be the ticket for me (except the price tag), anyone know of a similar harness or something that would suite me
well? (or a place to get the Session for wicked cheap) Thanks in advance

I use the Ozone Access XC for snow and land riding, but I am not sure how well it would work in water...

Right you are about the fit of the seat harness over the winter gear. I had to upsize mine this winter but now I'm quite sure I'll be able to use the
larger one on both water and winter. I paid $120 for a PL Seat harness without spreader bar (new) and prior to that was using a Dakine Fusion seat
harness I got off the used market. They do appear in the for sale sections, you just need to know what size you'll need. It took me three harnesses to
get it right ; (

Look at the Mystic Blazer snowkite harness. It is a seat harness so won't ride up. It has mesh inner lining intended to keep the snow from caking
up, but it has the added benefit of keeping sand from packing and caking if you take it on the water. The spreader hook is longer too, so it can
reach through layers of winter gear if worn underneath. They are sized larger as well, in the event you want to wear them over the winter gear.

Thanks for the input guys-
Looks like I might go with the Mystic blazer. Ive heard nothing but good things about the Mystic harnesses, so I figure I cant go wrong there. I
found one for pretty cheap, but they only have it left in Medium size. I couldn't find a sizing chart, but im thinking it will probably fit me,
considering it is designed just a bit big. I'm about a 32" waist. Thanks again for the help

If you are thinking about using it in water as well, I would find a water harness and use it for snow as well.
While Mystic Blazer might work in water, you might want to use something with more buoyancy. Many people use water harness for snow just fine.
I have both Mystic Blazer (for snow) and Mystic Warrior (for water) and thinking about using Mystic Warrior for snow next season.

I use an impact vest / harness
on the water only
old style Liquid Force
after a half a year
i realized itwas a size too big
my first one was too big
Idid not expect my retailer to take
it back nor
have I sold or gave it away
so I started to use it on ICE
impact resistance makes sense on ice
not that i ever use a much helmet any way,...
or snow
its too big so I wear it over a medium
thickness jacket
and it keeps my core temp up!
Its almost all worn out now,
and not many manufacturers
make one peice vest / harnesses anymore
and that pisses me off
the desision to choose will be annoying
Frenzy, Shockwave, Speed2
Ground Industries
Liq Force, Dakine, LibTech
AIR by sea land and snow!

I picked up a Dakine impact vest / harness as part of another deal. They can be had pretty cheap second hand.
It turns out it is great in many ways but not perfect.TOO hot for summer on land. For snowkiting and the little bit of water I try it works great .
I just bought a Mystic seat / waist harness. It can be used either way on land and water so between the 2 I'm covered ? Harness in warm shallow water.
Vest over Drysuit in crumby conditions.
I had heard and now see how it is true that you can buy a Mystic harness and be sure it is comfortable at least. This one being a seat / waist
harness meant I could replace my old comfortable waist harness with a seat harness that I could convert if I didn't like seat style. So far, I do.
